Kind of amusing were getting a lot of criticism from other teams for reaching after Gettleman's BPA charade. Feels like a lot is starting to be explained on why nobody would give him a job. Stubborn, arrogant.

Gettleman legitimately simply does not value the offensive line. Somewhere along the line a mentor of his whispered in his ear that all an OL needs to be good is "time" and I think Gettleman adamantly believes it and the facts aren't going to get in the way of that philosophy

Both. He's saying that he talked to a lot of other professional teams who aren't high on Shaq Thompson or the pick, and that a lot of reliable scouts he talked to didn't like Funchess pre-draft. Is basically just saying that a lot of other teams think we're having a pretty poor draft.

The Giants also moved up a lot higher in the draft, if Gettleman isn't concerned with that aspect and is strictly reading out of the book then we are screwed

I honestly am shocked Gettleman got bent over the table like that in that trade. Embarassing. NY gave up a whole lot less to go a whole lot higher

Funchess has a LOT of Dwayne Jarrett in him. You watch him play and it's easy to become enamored wih is "spectacular catches" but you look at him closely and realize he's making those plays because he's constantly putting himself in a position where he has to. He does not separate, he isn't explosive. This is a major book or bust move and we gave up a whole, whole lot to make it happen. Pencil that in along with Byron Bell's cousin now the undisputed starter at LT next season, and there's not a lot to like here.

@JasonLaCanfora: CAR moved into the Rams spot to take TE/WR Devin Funchess. Lot of teams panned CAR pick Thur and scouts I trust didn't like him either... Other teams thoughts on our draft.

Liked this guy at senior bowl week. Has some downsides but that's expected this late.
