"THE TIDE rises, the tide falls, The twilight darkens, the curlew calls; Along the sea-sands damp and brown The traveller hastens toward the town, And the tide rises, the tide falls. 5 Darkness settles on roofs and walls, But the sea, the sea in the darkness calls; The little waves, with their soft, white hands, Efface the footprints in the sands, And the tide rises, the tide falls. 10 The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls; The day returns, but nevermore Returns the traveller to the shore, And the tide rises, the tide falls." Henry wadsworth Longfellow's thoughts on whether or not a massive divisional game for the panthers will be at home or away

I've been considering trying Sniper Elite. I heard it was good and I've been itching for a WW2 game for years. I used to be obsessed with them.

Charles Tillman, CB aka "Peanut" signs with Panthers

Now were not gonna be able to sign Cam or Luke because 3 mil -
We signed ted ginn and michael Oher, our needs have already been met. We're ready for next year and are free to use our draft picks on luxury positions

This sounds nice but it isn't the way the NFL works anymore. Especially for a team that professes to "build through the draft." As has been discussed before, you can't have your cake and eat it too. You either make sensible picks while avoiding old tropes like this in your philosophy, or you are free to go with that old definition of "BPA" because you made sure your team was ready for the next year in the month's prior. Teams that try to do both lose games, and thankfully, we've seen Gettleman make sure he uses the draft to address needs in his years here and is on pace to do it in his 3rd. That all precludes the fact that "Top 5 player at a position" typically doesn't mean much in making your a 1st round pick anyways, especially at that position,

Has any player talked up by Riverboat worked out well for us?

Right after bashing him and just prior to trying to trying to talk up Jarrett Boykin as a legitimate weapon for him -
The Great Pie Debate - Offseason 2015 Edition

5% and no more. -
Please elaborate on your reasoning for this. Why indeed would you want a LB who doesn't play the position and openly refuses to learn it over this year's de facto best Safety prospect.

ah look another poorly veiled "HES IN THE LEAGUE AND YOUR ARENT SO HES THE BOMB" post that has become a commonplace tactic among the apologetic crowd when confronted with an argument like this. Ron isn't here to be a mediocre. He isn't being compared to PanthersUnited, or Pantherclaw, or you. He's being compared to Pete Carroll, and Bill Belichick, and John Harbaugh. And guess what? He compares poorly. You don't win Super Bowls being 17th best hurray! at your job. He's going to have to be way better than that if we want a championship, and then he's going to have to be even better to cover for a devoid of talent at key areas that the team feels no apparent need to address.

I'd rather see us be successful.

Havent you seen me depressed enough lately

Don't tease me with this and then let him walk out the door.

You can't be a team that takes the statement "build through the draft" as literally as we do and spend first rounds picks on luxury spots. I understand people here have spent years trying to make those two tropes coexist in the same philosophy because it's catchy and it's what the TV told them was smart to say, but you either construct your team implementing quality free agents in supplement to your draft picks or you go BPA (in the sense that the Huddle perceives it) come draft day. You aren't going to win championships ignoring need areas year in and year out or banking on UDFAs, late career rejects, or ST players to hopefully be "just enough" to get you all the way.

Alan "Blue Balls" Ball leaves Panther offer on table
Growl replied to CubsWin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just hope he can Ball. -
I've seen a couple rough injuries in youth football, nothing major, but some rough ones. played it and helped coach it for a short time. never any head injuries though.

he did say "youth football" but I guess we're just gonna ignore that

this is not your pappy's NFL and the sooner this board realizes it the sooner we can have more intriguing NFL discussions in this vein.

I like Stewart. I do. He's an excetionally talented back.... but his stock is high and now would be an excellent time to trade him and use a couple of picks on a RB in a deep draft class. I'm not saying I'm endorsing it... But I am throwing it out there to gauge interest and as something to ponder. Would you do it? There's never going to be a better time than now, and it comes with a number of upsides. Just seeing what the populace thinks.
