What magic can we pull to find a receiver?
Growl replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
this team has got to find a tyreek hill type player -
People are fixating on the wrong things. The big exciting 53 yard strike that juices you up or the truck stick move on a 63 yard scamper. It’s not what you’re looking for. he looked composed and he looked like he was in control. That’s a really good sign. the other stuff will come. Looked a bit like rookie Tua who just went off for nearly 500. it would’ve potentially come sooner had they actually given him a lot of work in the preseason but they get cocky.
-
He definitely looked confident and decisive. Some bad chemistry with the receivers, especially Marshall who would not get his head around. Id like to see the all-22 to see how the receivers were faring down field. Really need Chark out there.

The Panthers conceding defeat with nearly four minutes on the clock.

why not throw as many passes as possible if not for no other reason than to give your rookie QB reps even if you’ve thrown in the towel then prepare for going forward -
I’d be open to giving him the bulwark of the carries next week

a culture of losing has probably seeped into a lot of veterans but I’m more concerned with it from the coaching staff -
Down two scores with 3+ minutes is improbable but it’s a come back you do see in the nfl. Instead the panthers got the ball and effectively sought to get out of there. a number of runs, no shots at the end zone, no urgency. The “keep pounding” team gave up. What do we make of this

Lol absolutely defeated and surrendering
-
No urgency at all. No shots at the end zone.
-
even if you’ve given up why not have your rookie QB throwing as many passes as possible
-
a run? oh so we’ve just given up okay, because I was still engaged but if the coaching staff has conceded defeat then I guess I’ll head out ”keep pounding!”
-
few more reps in preseason for Bryce sure could’ve been helpful
-
The answer WAS on the roster and now he’s in SF

a Charlotte native! Wow! how could we be so dense! -
are they punting lol just trying to make it look close at this point
-
remember how disinterested they were in addressing the CB position this offseason (as well as most of you)
-
There’s not a single player on the roster who can make a play like that.
-
Marshall isn’t good enough a player to be on the field with Young. The ball’s coming fast and he’s just not accustomed to the anticipation. Theilen, Hurst. Even that guy they kept giving starter reps to in the preseason for some reason. Have all adapted. Marshall isnt adapting

“we have offsetting penalties so the play will stand”
-
should’ve had Shenault working returns all through camp instead of wasting a spot on this guy
-
the ball literally not bouncing our way twice in a row
-
the amount of sloppy penalties is ridiculous
-
the Miles Sanders acquisition has not been as advertised
-
I mean he’s under contract pretty cheap next season so there’s no reason to just punt but yeah they’re going to have to start thinking about a big time replacement
