  1. welcome to the world of working in sports media, get over it
  2. I know this is an offseason tradition but why are we the only team in the league that doesn’t have actual insiders telling us things that are happening inside the building other fanbases are treated to which players have received an offer sheet, which players they narrowly missed out on, which players are being considered instead we have our “insiders” “leaking” things as they appear on the team website and then saying “this is something that was communicated to me a while ago.” can we get an actual insider please and not an unofficial mouthpiece for the team
  3. there may not be a true X waiting in this free agent pool but it doesn’t mean there aren’t very good slot guys available. That’s a starter. Panthers need to get in on one. a guy like Lazard or theilen could replicate WR1 duties for a stint if you want, but there are legitimate options to be had for inside guys.
  4. okay stop the stupid argument in this thread or I’ll give you guys a temp ban
  5. Get a big money TE, find an electric speedster like Mecole Hardman, and start bolstering the defense for your new scheme-and not just another daquan Jones or Matt ionaddis rental but a guy who can plug a hole reliably for a few seasons.
  6. The division is weak and there for the taking, and with no 1st rounder next season it doesn’t really make sense to throttle down. still, there’s lot of things that need to be answered. We’ve felt for a while like the roster was close and needed a QB, and that still mostly remains true, but we’ve presented a few problems for ourselves. Trading Moore was necessary, but getting Corbett and Christiansen hurt in a meaningless game wasn’t. Switch to an odd alignment up front presents some roster challenges as well that will probably take two offseasons to be answered. the bigger problem is players we were counting on developing not doing so: Gross-Matos and Henderson are high draft picks playing two very valuable positions. Neither can be counted on. the Panthers have a strong defensive core but it needs improvements, and so there’s the question of which side of the ball are you going to tackle this offseason and which are you going to tackle next offseason. the smart move is to play to the talent, but you really do have to find a way to put some quality weapons around your rookie QB ASAP. i think most can agree we need a veteran TE-I know some want a rookie but it’s just not the right moment for that. You need a proven commodity. there are guys who can stretch the field at WR in this free agent pool, I’d go for one of those as well. you then need to plug a couple gaps on defense with legitimate players who fit your scheme i think they need to sign four legitimate players in free agency
  7. Spend money. You’ve offloaded Moore and and have a QB in a rookie deal. there are some weapons out there. Spend money.
  8. kinda sounds like he has some weird axe to grind rather than providing any news
  9. Some bears fan on Reddit said one of their insiders has mentioned that Indy has yet to even make a serious offer and said Tennessee has been more aggressive the op could be an elaborate way of leveraging Indy to get more involved if chi really doesn’t want to drop to 9. Hopefully we’re coming down to the finish on this
  10. played? it’s literally a win/win/win for all three teams bears maximize the value of their pick, Houston secures their top guy for a modest pick toss and blocks a division rival out of a top guy, panthers still get a top 2 prospect with the compensation being a token bit smaller its the ideal scenario unless you believe there’s only one QB worth taking and the team clearly doesn’t feel that way
  11. if I’m being honest I’ve got a hunch the Panthers like young more anyways fitterer was in on the Wilson draft
  12. how refreshing would it be to finally be a fan of the team that didn’t have forces conniving and plotting against them to prevent their success
  13. that’s not uncommon on draft night trades but I don’t think it would be the case here.
  14. honestly Houston may be completely unwilling to work with Indy, I’d say rumors like this even existing are probably something you can read into if you’re speculating
  15. Houston caring enough about having a specific guy is the biggest obstacle here, but there is a bit of motivation for them do so: scewing Indy over. they take a guy, we take a guy, colts get the scraps
  16. this would effectively be a three team trade, if Chicago and Houston agreed to a deal there would already be a handshake agreement in place for a pick swap of 2 and 9. We couldn’t “screw them over,” the deals would be announced likely one after the other
  17. what if the panthers don’t trade up, take a really fine LB, and he becomes a breakout star? they continue to wallow in the pits of mediocrity is the answer also lol “depth” which is the 53 positions on the roster don’t have to make bankable players before a team makes a run at a QB?
  18. yeah this has been a thing around here for a while. People get so laughably consumed in whatever picture they saw or video they watched that it borders on an outright rejection of the evidence. It’s only outpaced by the medical savants who jump in to tell you whose being “rushed back.” he’ll probably end up coalescing at about that weight after an nfl offseason regimen
  19. funny how quick the in-season “eff them picks” crowd starts to care A WHOLE WHOLE LOT about draft picks come the offseason
  20. at this point I really do think they go 1-2
  21. If you have three QBs you like and don’t want to get poached it’s a good idea
