We've had a large enough sample size now to know he relies too heavily on terrible players on the roster and we've witnessed it hurt the team a number of times. Its a formulaic process at this point: Gettleman lets talented player walk People question this Gettleman defends himself by churning out some gibberish usually pertaining to abstract concepts and how bad players will not be bad because of them Bad players end up hurting the team and being cut midseason or simply not able to do the job when the quality of competition is good enough that the strengths of the team can't cover for them.

The Panthers lost the super bowl because of a lack of playmaking at WR position, along with a lack of ability at another position that was projected to do poorly. That isn't the first time where us being team Mr. Joe Cool hard ball penny pincher had ended up costing us either. The 2014 team was a regressive debacle because we "believed" in the guys on the roster and did nothing to make the team better. This was done out of pride. It looks as if Gettleman thought Norman would hit the market, be laughed at, and come running back with his tail between his legs. Instead a 4th of the league and likely much more have shown interest. We are worse off for this.
