  1. getting Stafford is the next phase of QB purgatory so many warned about when we signed Bridgewater next we'll use a high 2nd round pick on one
  2. I don't care about "getting an upgrade," the focus needs to be on building a roster that dominates the conference for the long term, with an elite franchise QB
  3. really no choice but to move up now, hopefully Stafford goes to the jets
  4. why don't you go take a sneak peek at Seattle's recent draft history the patriots are another example of a poorly drafting team that rode a hall of fame QB to perennial success, earning the acclaim of little brain fans who cling to it so tightly because it sounds just so smart and is so great for the cap, which of course, is the ultimate litmus indicator of a successful team
  5. if we're gonna start trading away a bunch of 1st round picks for a surplus of mid rounders then maybe should just go ahead and pull the trigger on Watson
  6. The jets might not even go QB, what is it you think the Texans are gonna draft if they get in at 2 or 3 the best scenario for us is that everybody stays right where they are
  7. The teams that didn't win a pointless game against Dwayne Haskins
  8. there is no team better suited than us to control the balance of power in the nfc for the long term going forward, save perhaps San Fran chase that, not a couple good seasons with somebody else's hand me down
  9. and there's nothing anybody can do to change that Anyways, I really like this guy here
  10. No Draft a QB This isn't as hard as were all making it
  11. The future of the nfc is wide open and we are better situated perhaps moreso than any other team in the conference to be the architects of protracted dominance I don't want a window
  12. Hope were just trying to throw teams off the scent, this team needs to be zeroing in on a rookie QB
  13. neither structure has yielded positive dividends for either team, especially Detroit, and the falcons are facing the same terrain we are with a chance to hold the balance of power in the nfc south, and a rare opportunity to acquire the most important cog I doubt both teams go QB just because, but the team should operate under the pretense that one likely will, which also prepares for somebody trying to jump us
  14. Then again if he goes to the jets, we don't even have a window to trade into
  15. Imagine him going to atlanta The falcons get deshaun Watson and the Texans get our rookie franchise QB
  16. so the concern here is that he goes to a place like NYJ or atlanta that is on the fence about drafting a QB, and Houston takes their spot and is guaranteed to take a QB ideally he goes somewhere behind us if anything
  17. learn to read edit: fine, I'll be nice, yeah, what fitz said If you trade burns, suddenly jon snow guy has a really strong argument, this team has their QB but no means to build at the essential spots around him
  18. when you're picking this high in the draft, the general operational mentality is that you're getting a player of Watson's caliber, the trade off for the latent uncertainty being that it costs nothing to acquire said player and responsibility falling on the shoulders of those who were given the job of developing the talent given to them if he fails
  19. if we're planning on using 1st round picks on depth pieces then we should just go ahead and make this trade look, i get what you're saying, but the argument here centers around us being pretty well structured and in position to build a great team, not that we aren't so and can't afford to take the chance
  20. this is a bit reactionary, good teams aren't really as complete as they appear from the outside it's about being good at essential spots, this team has some pieces in place in that regard, and the discussion here is centering around another
