  1. This is a big move! On another note... imagine the range of emotions this man has gone through over the past 2 days? Geez!
  2. I don't know. I generally got the impression they went where he wanted them to go, but his timing was off. More attempts might help. Canales called a deep ball to DJ early in the preseason game, but Bryce didn't like what he saw and ended up completing an out to Sanders instead. Would love to see him take more shots.
  3. Wait... doesn't he normally OVERthrow deep balls, meaning a faster WR would be better for him?
  4. vision and quickness. Lateral and stop/start quickness is more important for consistency at the position.
  5. I think Raym might make it. He's the only true center on the roster and looked pretty damn good Saturday! The fact that he can consistently get the ball to the QB without any drama sets him apart from every other player currently on the roster.
  6. Either way, Jordan was the best TE over the entire preseason. Ian Thomas hasn't done anything in years, AND he's injured! So right now there's one healthy TE on the roster and he's a rookie. Even if they bring another guy in, he'll have less than 2 weeks to learn the playbook. Tremble will likely be ready, but he'll be banged up. He goes down again and they're down to a rookie TE on game day, and a new guy trying to learn the playbook on the fly.
  7. Honestly don't remember so many guys flashing open so quickly last season. Bryce had 2 or 3 open guys downfield to choose from on most plays Saturday. That was NOT the case last year.
  8. Gonna put this out there because no one is saying it... Wallace might take Shaq's spot by the end of the season. Shaq is obviously the more experienced player and that experience is his only advantage over the rookie right now. Shaq doesn't trust what he's seeing. He hesitates to fill his lane too often. Almost like he's a safety playing linebacker. I saw the same thing last season. It's like he'll see the guard block down, but hesitate to fill his lane, and end up getting lost in the trash 3 or 4 yards past the LOS. Wallace has no friggin hesitation! He reads his keys and attacks downhill with conviction.
  9. And that's the type of throw he can make that everyone else can't. He doesn't have a rocket launcher attached to his shoulder, but those odd angle throws are just as impressive to me. And it's rare to have both - insert Patrick Mahomes.
  10. Not gonna lie... I saw a couple of opportunities to go downfield and Bryce chose not to. I think he is risk averse by nature. Nothing wrong with that, as long as he does take it when he should. But like others have already stated, he's going through his progressions and makes the correct decision in this case. I think we as fans are so starved for downfield throws from Bryce, that we just want to see him sling it sometimes. Completely understand.
  11. Yeah. He wasn't a good person, but he ain't Rae. Rae was a terrible person.
  12. Neither of those guys are reaches though. Proven and relatively young. And... no long history of injuries. Truly a black cat moment if they fail.
  13. I don't think people see the hypocrisy in those takes. That's like saying, I want him to lead the team to success and be the best QB in the NFL, but until he does I'm gonna let everybody that will listen know that he can't do it. Making definitive statements like - he's too short, too little, too slow, too weak, not smart enough to even play in the NFL. He doesn't have any tools, zero, nothing to be successful in the NFL. But if he ever figures it out, he's my guy! Make it make sense. Reality is if he shows any improvement, they'll give the credit somewhere else. When it'll really just be he finally gets NFL average in areas like coaching, scheme, playcalling, pass protection, and receiver play. But he's supposed to overcome below average in all those areas as a rookie? And if you just acknowledge that lack of supporting cast prevents us from making a final decision on him yet, then you're a stan or a Bryce defender. No, I just have objective common sense, sir.
  14. Yeah, it appears that he's working on getting the ball downfield more. Last season, he constantly overthrew those passes - not enough air under it. Now, it seems like he's putting too much. But he has been connecting on a few too - in practice. He'll find that sweet spot as long as he keeps pushing it. I think that's the key point. Don't stop throwing it. Even if you miss, you've planted a seed.
  15. Yeah. You don't trade all of your best offensive players so you can hire an offensive coach to become an offensive team. Kind of defeats the purpose.
  16. I'm always hyped to watch Panthers games. I don't know what they'll be this season, but it doesn't dictate whether or not I'll watch the games. I will. And I've always watched every game on Sundays and Mondays, now Thursdays too. So, my enjoyment of the NFL isn't restricted to the success of Carolina. Just gives me bragging rights. That's all.
  17. I remember Cam looking absolutely lost his first preseason. Then the first two games happened... Playing starters a few snaps just to catch up to game speed is ok. Win or lose. It really doesn't matter. Not playing them is ok too. But I do agree it needs to be a majority of the starters or none at all. The only way it helps at this point is timing and game speed adjustment.
  18. Just have to hope he can adapt. He has enough arm to throw it early, just not late. Completing deep passes at a high tick would be great, but you have to at least take the shots. 2 or 3 a game of 50 yards+ would change how DBs play the pass. Honestly, every time they start creeping up, I'd just take a shot over everyone's heads to back them up. I agree with not making the offense too predictable. I was thinking more of encouraging him to break out of the pocket when things get hairy vs calling too many roll outs. I'm thinking a heavy play action offense instead. But the running game has to have some success for it to work.
  19. I honestly think the starters will get a few snaps against the Bills. Understand not risking the QB1 without the starting OL and WRs on deck.
  20. He appears to be better when it's his first option - as most QBs are. He's just really bad when it isn't, and rarely even takes it if it's late in the progression. That could be a lack of confidence in his receivers too. DC should really dial up plays for him and take more of the decision out of his hands. Yeah, trying to turn him into a pocket QB would be a horrible approach, and I don't think DC even wants that. I think he mentioned that in an article last week.
  21. I think we've seen a more aggressive Bryce Young this year, that is more willing to take shots downfield. He didn't take enough shots last year to have success in my opinion. Hopefully he learns to fit this offense by taking more opportunities. Once every 2 or 3 games ain't gonna get it done.
