  1. He threw an absolute dime of a 30 yarder right at the perfect spot in the back of the endzone for his guy. He's having himself a night.
  2. Only problem is he's basically the same age as Darnold. If you hit with him, you're getting a solid 9-10 years, not some longer 15ish year career. But the upside is surely enticing. Young's feel for the game is unreal though. Now it's time to see Levis against a proper defense
  3. Going to hold Hooker where I think he in the OP but just WOWWWWW at that game tonight. Levis time then Ward a bit later. We'll see how much of a gap there looks to be between Young and Levis. Young played absolutely brilliant tonight.
  4. Arguably the greatest prospect in NBA draft history. The 2023 tankathon could be a thing of crazy epic proportions. Could see some wild movement early this season. Pacers, Spurs, Jazz, Hornets, Magic, Thunder, Houston...who will join the tank race? It's gon' be tough to be as bad as the Spurs or Pacers may be...but if Lamelo misses significant time...
  5. At some point the peeps who knock his size have to see his wizardry. He finds some of the prettiest damn windows. He's got talent you don't see every year with moving around and finds such good placement.
  6. Truth We basically have to send him somewhere that has an immediate need and space. He's not a long term get for any squad.
  7. Yesssir. If it puts a team over the top, it can be worth it. A team isn't trading for let's say...a Joe Mixon type RB, but CMC? That puts a few teams in reaaaally good position--the Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins, Ravens...all who basically have an RB1 slot wide open for him to jump into. Hell, maybe he shows out against the LAR and we ship him to LA after XFL upsets them. Though as mentioned, listening does not equal shopping. We need some damn good value. Time to get these RB-needy AFC contenders get into a bidding war.
  8. Hooker and Young are both looking good. Young's showed some pretty legit toughness with some hits taken.
  9. Give him a guru like Shane Steichen, and there could be something there. And something we've never tried before in our history, being a promising young offensive HC w/NFL experience + QB1 His potential is tantalizing. The ceiling of him and Ward is what gets my jimmers jimmering the most.
  10. Peyton spent time with him this week one-on-one. The closer I look--he's got the best release, mechanics, arm combo with a high baseline athleticism. His decision making is what needs work, but he legit checks every box you look for. Can EASILY see him the QB1 on many team boards given Young's size & Stroud's unknowns within the OSU system. Don't think guys like Hooker or Ward pass him in the eyes of the NFL scouting community.
  11. Just curious--How do you see us keeping him? I'm a big Burns fan & acknowledge the "fug off with this bs" type responses but I'm genuinely curious to how we navigate this.
  12. I retracted in the 3rd post after finding out about this guy & asked a mod to consider closure. All good.
  13. I'm just wondering how they get the room to keep him another year, sign a draft class and do practically anything else? Even if we shed Robbie, Shaq, Elf, rework other contracts (which we already pretty much need to do to get back in the green), we're going to be really limited.
  14. Tag is $20 mil for DE this past year, will likely go up a tad. The tag tightens things up as much as a new contract. Will be VERY interesting to see how we maneuver this situation.
  15. Notable matchups: Hall vs. an SEC defense Hooker vs. Bama/Young vs. TEN Ward without his top WR vs. Oregon. State Levis v. Miss State's Defense
  16. And who more convenient to ask than the young, versatile, sack specialist 1st rounder with his contract at an end. The facts alone are probably why this dolt made the tweet. If there is anyone that has an out, in their control, for wherever they want, it's Burns. We can control that destiny and get value for it up to the trade deadline.
  17. Exactly. We didn't negotiate a new contract last year, just picked up his 5th year, and there's been no news on a new one. I'd prefer not to ride him out and then have a Peppers situation again.
  18. Yep, I didn't realize this dude was a bad track record. Certaintly gets a discussion started though haha I'd love him to stay by all means, but I could see why we would get what we can for him right now.
  19. It almost needs to happen or he can just refuse a re-sign and go elsewhere. We aren't going to be able to offer what other clubs can. And it hinges on him wanting to come back and negotiate an extension. And his new contract with us would hinder the cap an incredible amount. It's a tough spot. Is he worth a superstar contract to make things even tighter? Or should we get max value?
  20. @rayzor I've realized this dude is kind of a shmuck whose made stuff up in the past so may have been too soon with this. Consider a lock.
  21. To be honest, it makes a lot of sense. We don't really have the room for him and he's going to want quite a contract. It puts us in position to trade him to a place that can instantly sign him long term. Top pass rushers garner a lot of value---what do you feel would be the destination and comp? Me: Baltimore for a minimum 2023 1st, 4th, 2024 2nd
  22. The offensive scheme/playbook/playcalling is a big problem and the issues compound with poor QB play.
