  1. Offenses this year are averaging around 22 per game. We scored 17. Defenses are averaging around 20. Exactly what we gave up. We didn't score enough points. Low scoring games with passing offense under 200 yards seems to be one thing we do fairly consistently. How much of that is DC or Bryce, who can really say. But it's way too common a thing to make me think it's just one or the other.
  2. Solution to this IMO. QBs and any runner are allowed to slide aka give themselves up. If they fake a slide or sideline step out (ie Mahomes vs Jackson earlier this season), and continue on to gain an advantage, automatic 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty and game misconduct warning. If they do it again, another 15 yards and automatic ejection. 3 times in a season, 3 game suspension. 4 times, 6 game. Every time after, 6 games. That'll take care of that poo real quick.
  3. I liked Bersin. If it hit his hands, he caught it. And he'd go across the middle for a hospital ball fearlessly. But you knew exactly what he was and what to expect. He wasn't Calvin Johnson and was never going to be. Bryce, we're 3 years in and it's week to week, quarter to quarter, drive to drive which version you're getting. There's no way to coach or design an offense around that.
  4. Honestly depends on what we do this offseason. If we option or extend Bryce, I consider it a massive failure of a season. He hasn't shown enough for either. I think we've seen enough from DC to know he isn't HC material but cant move on yet due to firing to many HCs. Evero is likely out of here after how he was treated by Tepper. Dalton needs to retire by choice or by force. XL needs to commit to football or find a new hobby with TikTok. We've got a lot of work to do and it's starts with brutal evaluation of job performance from GM down.
  5. As much as I hate to say it, Bryce to KC this offseason could make sense. Reid could be one of the only minds to be able to do something there. Bryce plays on his final year while Mahomes recovers. Not the ending we hoped for but one I'd take.
  6. I'm firing DC, though I think it actually makes the job less attractive. He's not prepared to be a HC and it's showed. A new HC is not going to be tied automatically to BY. He's going to want to bring in some level of competition in the QB room because anyone who has ever watched football knows our QB room is lacking. If he doesn't, that tells a more interesting tale of who's really calling the shots. Dave hasn't been decisive enough in game and that leadership council BS has trust fall vibes. Our offense has been pathetically stale and vanilla. Our run game while good has made no sense based on who has been playing best. Our defense is improved but they can't be expected to hold opposing teams to below 17 a game because our offense can't score consistently. We've beaten some teams we shouldn't have beaten, specifically GB and the Rams, and I think our record doesn’t accurately reflect where the team and the coaching really is. We've fallen flat against a geriatric rookie QB leading a 2-10 NO team and got our ass handed to us TWICE. We're unprepared for the biggest games. This is what happens though when real coaching candidates turn down interviews because your owner is a narcissistic butthole. You get someone no one else bothered to call and you get the results everyone else would have expected if they had.
  7. Not saying Icky did his job yesterday, but do you know how much easier it is to rush if you don't have to worry about a QB stepping up into the pocket frequently? You can attack because there's only about a 20-30 degree windows of where the QB is going to end up instead of 90. You don't have to worry about adjusting so much, you can just go. Easier to run a straight line when there's little need to worry about changing direction. Icky's weakness coming out of college was pass pro. Young played like the DROY yesterday and Icky got handled. Your OC has to adjust to that. Your QB needs to adjust to that. We didn’t. See results.
  8. Made me think of superman 3 with Richard Pryor. That movie was so bad. The only thing that could have saved it was Richard Pryor being stand up Richard Pryor.
  9. Tackles are supposed to direct their losing ground. You can't hold back a rusher forever. The QB has to be able to step up into the pocket to give room to work. You can only drop so far before you back into your QB or another lineman or rusher.
  10. Not even talking about Bryce. His in game recognition and adjustments are staggeringly slow. He's not seeing the whole picture because he's focused too much on calling plays. He needs to concentrate on being a HC. He's not good enough to do both.
  11. Go watch the final of last years 4 nations tournament. Probably the greatest game i have ever watched from start to finish across all sports.
  12. Not being able to run a QB sneak is a problem and a major issue. Certain plays have to be in the play book. An NFL offense can't survive without them.
  13. 2-0 vs Carolina. The only record that matters right now.
  14. Canales is a huge fuging problem and he cannot be OC and HC. He needs to be forced to let someone else play call next year.
  15. Canales did what Canales does. He sucked. The only thing he's learned is absolutely nothing.
  16. And this is why having a quality QB2 matters. Minshew isn't great but he isn't the ghost of the ghost of Andy Dalton.
  17. How many opportunities has Bryce had vs Maye. Context matters.
  18. Do you consider a season successful if you win the division with a losing record? The record reflects you didn't do well yet somehow lucked into the playoffs. We're winning right now, but part of the reason we're talking playoffs is our division is really bad. Personally, I judge the braintrust by growth. Have we seen improvement this year? Yes. I'll judge this braintrust as improved when I see 4 more in a row, rational decision making regarding our QB room, and multiple back to back winning seasons. If we judge by single season effectiveness alone, Nippleshorts was the greatest GM we ever had.
  19. At least they took him at 20 instead of packaging a huge deal to move up. Makes it sting a little less i guess. Of course they could have had Brock Purdy 7 rounds later...
