  1. Last season wasn’t about winning. It was about Bryce starting no matter what. Dalton looked better in the one game he played in one of the most hostile environments in the NFL, in the rain, and under tremendous pressure. It doesn’t need to be about upside. It needs to be about winning. Dalton should have been playing the first half of the season at minimum. Bryce wasn’t ready. Nothing wrong with that. But you have to be willing to acknowledge the truth about the situation and that’s not something Dave, Scott, and possibly Frank were willing to do.
  2. Right now, works out should mean that Bryce has to fight for a starting job. This franchise needs to be about winning, not just proving that the biggest unicorn in draft history wasn't a colossal mistake. If Bryce can't beat out his competition in camp, legitimately, then he needs to be on the bench. I don't care if the ghost of Jake Delhomme's arm can beat out Bryce, that's who should be starting.
  3. It's probably only a 1 year hire anyway at most. We haven't finished the last 2 seasons with the same head coach we started with. Why change?
  4. Well fug. Looks like Blue is losing to the suckeyes again.
  5. What has Dave and Nicole done that would give anyone any kind of confidence that they know what they're doing? Dave and Nicole are the problem. He knows hedge funds. He doesn't know poo about running a NFL franchise. Until he sells the team or finds another hobby other than fantasy GM, this team is fukked and the fans right along with it.
  6. Me too and it usually results in someone doing something humiliating while the rest of us laugh at him/me after we lose the bet over who's right.
  7. If by "most competitive roster in the nfl" he means everyone on the roster is fighting for their job and no one is a lock for the 24 roster, then I'd say he's spot on.
  8. Kind of reminded me of that look you make when you're trying to sneak out a silent but deadly on the elevator just before the door opens for your floor.
  9. The face every fan makes when they realize Tepper is still the owner.
  10. He was probably the only real candidate. I doubt anyone else wanted to work with Tepper after talking to him. Made Dan the top candidate by default.
  11. Same owner, no change from me. I said I wouldn't spend another dime on anything Panthers related until Tepper is gone and I'm sticking by it.
  12. That's where I'm at at this point. No idea what to expect from Dan, and I really have zero expectations. But the fact that Nicole was involved in this whole process just puts that nail in the coffin a little deeper that Dave hasn't actually learned a gotdamn thing from watching this shitshow since buying the team. No matter what Dan does, Tepper is still the problem and that's not going to change.
  13. Maybe he'll browse the Huddle and listen to some of the opinions here. After all, we were right more than Scott. Not sure how much of an accomplishment that really is, but a lot of us were probably drunk.
  14. Even if we don't win, if decisions are being made that are in the best interest of the franchise moving forward, I'm good with that.
  15. I wish the best for Dan. I really do. But the fact that Nicole was involved in the interviewing process for the new GM tells me all I really need to know. Dave hasn't learned his lesson and he's making major decisions based partially on the opinion(s) of underqualified people. It's just more of the same and there's nothing to get excited about. Panther fans are going to be wishing we were the Browns. I had zero faith in the leadership of this franchise. Somehow now, I have even less.
  16. Sanders wasn't a good signing. Anyone that ran behind that line in Philly looked like a pro bowler.
  17. From Goff, Sewell, St Brown, La Porta, Montgomery and Gibbs to Bryce, Icky, Sanders, Chubba, Thielen, Mingo, and TMJ. I mean who wouldn't wanna jump ship for that.
  18. As someone with a family member that deals with some pretty serious side effects of post concussion syndrome, that poo is not something to be made fun of.
  19. I'm still trying to figure out what in the fug Nicole Tepper knows about hiring a GM for an NFL franchise.
  20. As a coach, there's no way in hell I'm coming to Carolina knowing I have no choice but to start Young to continue "evaluations." Either he can beat out the guys in camp, or he can't. And if he can't, then he needs to be on the bench. And if you have to start him despite him not being able to beat out the competition, that order is coming from upstairs. Young is a sunk cost at this point. He's player A up against player B, C and D. That's how you have to evaluate him. If playing Young is a requirement, you might as well hire some limp dick head coach that's already failed miserably in the NFL to guarantee that first pick. But firing him at the end of the season just to hire another one that will be able to pick their QB is going to make things even more intolerable around here. The goal should always be winning. Dalton should have been starting from day 1 here last year if that was the ultimate goal. Personally, I don't think it was. Bryce wasn't ready to be the day 1 starter and it showed. I think it was Tepper trying to show he was smarter than everyone else and he ended up looking like a dumbass, again. We'll know by the coaching hire if we're trying or if we're tanking for 2025 and having our 1st rounder back for a QB selection. But if we're looking for a coach who is ready to ride or die with Bryce, based on what we've seen so far in 16 games, our list of candidates is going to be really short.
  21. If he has a sophomore slump, the only reason he will be playing is because of Tepper not wanting to admit a mistake, aka being a meddling owner, or we are tanking for the 25' 1st overall. If he's playing worse than he did this year and still starting, there's going to be a lot of money to be made betting against the Panthers.
  22. It's not that they were massively shorter, but they were playing against a much lower level of competition giving him pocket time he doesn't get in the NFL. The best defenders he faced on a weekly basis are now JAGs on every team. This isn't a slight increase in the competition level we're talking about and the difference is showing. I'm not sure what games you were watching, bit his lack of ability is pretty apparent. He isn't seeing NFL open receivers and he's not making the powerful throws necessary to drive the ball by planting his feet when he's hopping or throwing off his toes on nearly every pass. His footwork is atrocious and his urgency in the pocket is tortoise like. If I didn't know it and you told me that was the number 1 QB in the draft, I'd call BS because at best he looks like a late rounder or udfa right now. As far as the line goes, BC to LT, Icky to guard, competition at center and RG and Moton stays where he is. Go find someone mean and nasty in the draft or clone Norwell. And for fugs sake, design an offense that actually suits what our line does well.
  23. Went back and reread the thread about Detroit hiring Campbell as HC. Some people were bagging on him pretty hard. I'd love to have him as our HC. He's turned the Lions around.
