  1. he has been every practice thus far. plus he is making his presence known on the practice field. i really like this guy to make the 53 i was there today. Oher was always with his fellow lineman. he participated in position drills. was not being a slouch on his vet day. tweet is misleading. some douchebag knocked over the fence trying to steal the ball KB had just thrown to some kids. unfortunately, he succeeded. i know this because i was right there to watch it. pissed me off big time.
  2. I dont think LT is a weakness just yet. i think there is healthy competition there among players that are inexperienced, coming off injury, or coming into a new system. i am still hopeful that by the end of preseason, our OL will be a well-gelled machine that will consistently give our star QB 4-5 seconds to throw. will they be great? probably not. but with our QB and the weapons we have, they wont have to be. LT may be the weakest link, but that doesnt necessarily make it a true weakness. like another poster said, from now on, the Panthers will be improving upon talent already there, and not filling holes. i guess thats what im trying to say. there is no hole at LT now. there's no lack of talent there. but it can also certainly be improved. our offensive coordinator is what will hinder this offense this season, more than anything else.
  3. i am honestly not at all worried about our DE rotation. nor our DT rotation. even with KK and Star out, i think our defensive line is formidable enough to help us win games. glad to hear Ealy is doing better. Everyone keeps freaking out about Oher, but he just seems streaky to me. he is taking turns having bad and good practices. still want to give him more time before i call for a replacement. though, with Williams starting at LT today and doing quite well, i wonder if maybe the winds of change are blowing...
  4. we were all kids right there. haha. see that arm? thats my arm giving Benjamin a firm slap on the back for that catch! as for those faulting Tre Boston, he is a second year player that was drafted in the middle of the draft going up against one of the best young receivers in the league. give the guy some freakin slack. i, for one, am still very hopeful for Boston. on another note, did you notice that when Benjamin threw that ball to the kids, some douchebag middle aged man jumped in front of it and knocked the damn fence over in his douchebaggery? i could have punched him in the face if i wasnt worried about having an assault on my record. it really pissed me off that he would deprive one of the five kids there at the fence from a football thrown by a Panther.
  5. i have to admit, i really like the way this sounds: Williams - Norwell - Kalil - Turner - Remmers we would absolutely maul opposing defenses once Williams comes into his own... O.o i did not see this coming. but i like it.
  6. glad to see the improvement in Addison. the competition for the starting RDE spot is shaping up to be better than expected. Big Frank playing with chutzpa and now Addison showing his worth too. Jeremy, any news out of Horton? i know Ealy hasnt been doing great.
  7. i will not freak out about the offense until i see them in the preseason. i have a hunch half of their struggles are in blue jerseys playing on the other side of the ball. that said, as bittersweet as it is, if our offense continues to struggle this season... i dont know how this Front Office cant let go of Mike Shula. we gave him weapons. we did the best we could with the OL given the circumstances we had to work with. and Cam Newton is finally healthy. there comes a point where you cant hide behind poor OL play. there are ways to scheme around that and Shula has never seemed to figure them out. if the offense continues to struggle to score points with all the talent there, Shula needs to be given a demotion back to QB coach, or his walking papers, one or the other
  8. i wouldnt take him over Cotchery. and Byrd and Bersin are a push. but i would certainly take Byrd over Boykin. yes. but there's no such thing as having too much speed. especially if those speedsters can actually catch footballs and get YAC i think there is room for both Byrd and Bersin. and truthfully, i think it just depends on what kind of play the coaches are looking to put on the field. if they want the quick strike for 15 yards or the clutch reception on 3rd down. either receiver will add to this offense. i will trust whatever decision the coaches make come cut day. yes. i have been to all but one practice and i have regularly seen him fielding kicks. havent seen him drop one yet. i see our receiving corps working out thus: 1) Benjamin 2) Funchess 3) Ginn 4) Brown 5) Bersin 6) Cotchery or Byrd. We have the vet in Ted Ginn. so this is a toss up. if the coaches decide to keep 7, then Byrd takes the #7 spot. He has produced more than Boykin. and Boykin will have to step on it for the rest of camp, and show out more than Byrd in preseason if Boykin wants to usurp Byrd.
  9. hope this isnt too late, but i'd love to hear as much about Dameire Byrd as possible. im really cheering for that kid.
  10. if i remember correctly, EVERYONE SUCKED in training camp last year at returning kicks and punts. This year we at least have marked improvement. and we have Ted Ginn back, plus Jordan Todman, who will be our starting returners anyway. your point about TC is...?
  11. im no expert at dissecting football plays in real time. too many large moving bodies. my eyes are generally just drawn to the football. so forgive me if i miss an offensive lineman getting beat. besides, Jeremy said in his observation thread that Oher did better today so cool your jets homie haha
  12. i wont get ahead of myself, but to be fair to Oher, Jeremy said he did better today. hopefully "doing better" continues through the preseason and into the regular season
  13. i keep saying this, but i am so excited for this iteration of the Carolina Panthers. this team is going to compete. and to think, this isnt the best we are going to be ;) Did you even read what Jeremy wrote about Bersin? He is improving. even looks good. i think having DeHaven running the show is helping, and thats an exciting thing. speaking of DeHaven... praying for him. still battling cancer. Keep Pounding Coach.
  14. Cam Newton seemed visibly frustrated at times. I couldnt tell what for. He didnt seem injured. He didnt direct it at anyone. He seemed to be getting adequate time to throw, though i did notice that his receivers were having a hard time getting open. Jeremy, or anyone else who attended practice today, could you shed some light on this? is it just Cam's competitive nature?
  15. i am so fuggin pumped for this season. our offense will be dangerous and our defense will be punishing. our special teams should be greatly improved, and our QB is both taking control of plays on the fly, and taking what the defense gives him. this could be a special year. OMJESUS
  16. nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina for a Panthers football game!
  17. i dont know much about OL play. i agree that if the red flag on the ground was supposed to be the QB, then Oher got pushed into the QB. That said, i also agree with those who remind us that Cam is a mobile QB, not a statue. Had Cam actually been in the pocket there, i think he would have had plenty of time to throw the ball, or tuck it and run. i thought it was sloppy on Oher's part, but this is only the first practice. He is back healthy and will have pads on in a few days. im still reserving judgment until then. for now, i am unimpressed, but not concerned either. he is certainly better than Bell. Good luck with that Tennessee....
  18. really cheering for this kid. i think he could be the answer for speed. perhaps could even take over for Ginn in a year or two as our KR. no Amini starting. thank you Riverboat for not being retarded. haha aw hell nah. i didnt like Hill before, but he needs to calm his pussy ass down. focus on catching the damn ball once in a while instead of stiff arming people in the face on practice reps. praying for an injury-free camp. we have a great roster this year. it could be our year, if we just stay relatively healthy. i know tweaked hammys are gonna happen, but lets stay healthy boys. he will never sign an extension in Carolina. Cam doesnt like it here. wait... what?
  19. This is one of the best TD pics I've ever seen. With the pose, lighting, and even the scenery in the background. You could like... posterize that for some family counseling center. Haha
  20. haha im 23 years old. my dad is only 43 this is where i was hoping this thread would go. sort of...
  21. gladly. http://www.campusreform.org/?ID=6335 http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/03/11/professors-us-flag-symbolizes-racism-should-not-be-displayed-on-campus.html http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/jun/25/louis-farrakhan-calls-american-flag-come-down-who-/ http://patriotupdate.com/2014/09/college-student-forced-remove-american-flag-balcony-offend-foreign-people/ these were from a quick google search. if im correct, both CampusReform and the Washington Times are left-of-center outlets. i tried to avoid personal blogs for integrity's sake. i could continue to peruse Google for stories that im sure date back years. but i dont have time at the moment. the fact of the matter is that there have been people burning the American flag and calling it a divisive, racist, or otherwise offensive symbol for years. thats why there's even a conversation about the right to desecrate it. people hate the slippery slope argument and call it a fallacy. unfortunately, considering human nature... its normally fairly accurate. hahahahahaha Dad loves that movie. pie for you sir.
  22. can i ask where you get your information from? i take in a whole spectrum of media from the huffington post and npr to TheBlaze and Fox News. your snide remark about TheBlaze obviously implies your perspective on politics, and i can surmise where you mainly get your information from. for the record, there was no discussion of double standards or comparisons in the article. but i think the article itself goes to show how our country is certainly moving to get rid of all symbols from the past that someone finds offensive. your talking points response has no substance, nor basis. really? thats why liberals have been calling for the removal of the American flag for years, right? thats why they burn the Flag at any opportunity? im glad we can drink, party, and celebrate our Panthers together PhillyB. youre a cool guy but i dont think we agree on much else. haha ;)
  23. hahahahahaha. i made that point on facebook myself a few weeks back.
