  1. There's certainly some room for compromise from everyone. Teddy isn't the guy, and I say that as a guy whose a huge fan of Teddy. But it also is true that he isn't a bad person. He is a very good student of the game. Everyone at the Vikings, Saints, and in college had nothing but good things to say about him. As a guy who mentored other players, and as a team mate. That's from coaches, players, and fans. We absolutely need him to be that person, because he's going to be leading a rookie QB into the NFL this year or next. And he's absolutely a perfect fit for that.
  2. I remember that play, and the press conference. I just didn't think much of it. If you've ever watched Teddy, that's not who he is. He's not going to toss anyone under the bus on purpose, he was just being honest.
  3. It goes well beyond coaching IMO. The Seahawks roster management was light years beyond ours.
  4. What did I say? I must have missed this.
  5. I think Teddy is the starter on Day 1 next year, and we'll have a 1st round QB sitting behind him until they feel comfortable putting him into the game. I suspect, at this time, that will be Trey Lance. Teddy got hurt against Tampa Bay, and went from mediocre to pretty poor after that. I think it's pretty obvious at this point, that despite that he's not the answer in Carolina. I've watched Teddy his entire career through college, and man is it frustrating for him to be so hated here. I think he's going to do a fine job mentoring our next QB, but I really wish people would stop looking for reasons to hate him. I think people are really over-reading into different things between him and Coach Rhule.
  6. I think the better thing to look at is the team drafting the QBs. How many of those guys were setup for failure by being part of bad teams and bad organizations? People want to draft a QB because they think this is Madden, and the QB fixes all of the problems. We certainly need a QB, but if we're going to have one succeed, then when need to make sure he has an offensive line that won't make him a $30 million dollar IR lifer, and a WR or TE that can go up and get the ball consistently (while also allowing our burners to do their work).
  7. Look, I've enjoyed watching Stafford play, but trading for him is the equivalent of the Okung Trade. He has become consistently injured His play has declined He looks closer to 40 than 33 He has a bad CAP hit We're be giving up A LOT to trade for a QB on a team, that isn't Super Bowl Ready That sacrifices the future of 2 drafts to get better In 2 years, you have to draft a QB again Trading for Stafford would be a monumentally bad idea.
  8. Wilson is my favorite between him and Lance. Not enamored with Mac Jones at all. He's slower than Peyton Manning, and that's a problem in today's NFL.
  9. It was the stereotypical Marty Hurney Offensive Line acquisition though: Debating retirement Injury history Old Overpaid Didn't pan out
  10. Focusing on the offensive line? Now that's a position group I haven't heard management speak about seriously in a long time.
  11. The mask isn't to protect you, it's to protect people from you.
  12. Didn't get to see the game. Ealy was the whipping boy last year and finished a bit better. Was a bit surprised to hear that he struggled this bad to start the year, but it was the 1st pre-season game.
