  1. Canes don't have any cap space to bring him up and as good as he's been in the A, he's not ready for anything more than a few spot starts. Freddie is the guy and Raanta is the backup. If one of them gets hurt we could do an emergency recall but with them healthy we can't bring up Pyotr. And Freddie has been great, he's still like top 3 league wide...
  2. I wouldn't put it past this staff to just forget they had a pick and just never make that pick
  3. Parker isn't very good. If I were them I'd have tried to trade him outside the division but that return is good value for the Dolphins.

    PFF?

I remember when PFF always thought Luke sucked early in his career which was completely ridiculous, then a switch randomly flipped like 3-4 years in and then he was all of sudden the best LB every year according to them. They're completely random and I put pretty much no stock into their grades.
  5. Must’ve had a health issue come up or something that’s a total shocker
  6. He didn’t really contribute positively to our D as a starter. Decent depth but not as a starter
  7. If I were a gambler I'd gladly take those odds and hope we hit on a rookie QB. It's ridiculous to have us behind the Giants, Falcons, Lions.
  8. I don't need to read the report, they may want to trade the picks fine. But not for such horrible value. Hey old pal, bend me over and fug me on this trade just because we're old friends! Come on Scot
  9. And they would hang up immediately and never do business with you again. 6 overall and a 2023 1st rounder is not even close in value to 5 and 7 overall this year. And no Robby Anderson being added would not move the needle whatsoever either.
  10. Pickett Pick 6 may be something we have to get used to..
  11. We already chose Jackson to start across from Horn. End of story.
  12. This was always a risk and needed to factor into the price of acquisition. The picks they gave up weren't crazy but the fully guaranteed contract they gave him was. I still don't think this will matter, he may be suspended for a relatively small amount of games but most likely scenario is in the long term he'll be able to play and be a franchise QB for them.
  13. Winning record and playoff appearance. Or losing record playoff appearance if we win at least 1 playoff game. But he’d still be on a short leash in 2023 unless we win the SB. Need back to back winning seasons and playoffs
  14. Why would anyone hate him? He can be a terrible coach and we can want him gone without any reason to hate the guy.
  15. If we miss the playoffs Rhule is gone, I’d say that’s pretty clear. Even if a rookie QB comes in and plays like Justin Herbert from his first snap. I don’t think this draft has any impact at all in Rhule’s future other than how well it contributes to us winning games and making the playoffs this season.
  16. And we have one of the worst dead weight contracts in the league in Darnold right now. We’d have nearly $50M in cap space without him and our roster wouldn’t be any worse.
  17. Just remembered... the Dolphins have a lefty QB. Why would they value a LT so much as to give Armstead that massive deal? Are they confident he’ll seamlessly slide to RT? Or just need OL that bad they don’t care about investing a ton in a non-blindside tackle?
  18. Lot of different opinions in the room, more film to be watched and a ton of meetings to be had. I'm sure guys like Rhule and Fitterer have their own preferences right now but the team as a whole isn't ready yet to rank them, pretty standard stuff for a month before the draft. And often times teams are torn on players, this isn't an exact science. Their opinions could change many times in the next month right up until the pick is actually made.
  19. Completely agree with the first part of your post. He is not a starter in this league, at all. But he did play well in Henry's absence last year and unless we draft a RB I don't see anyone beating him out as a backup and short yardage/goal line back here.
  20. My only hope/goal for this season at this point is to finish above .500 and make the playoffs, I think avoiding .500 or worse would be a huge step in the right direction even if it's just 42-40. Then to win the play-in games and get in the playoffs. Atlanta and likely Toronto are opponents we should be able to beat even if it's on the road. If we can get a top 8 seed going in great then we get a few chances. But that seems unlikely at this point so will need 2 win two "playoff games" against relatively poorer competition. As long as we make it in the real playoffs I'll be thrilled with this season all things considered, even if we get swept (I doubt we don't win at least a game against anyone with LaMelo, but still). Gotta instill some confidence in this team and a winning culture to carry going forward. Anything less than a winning record and playoff appearance will be a disappointment to me, given how promising last season was and how we should be much better than last year overall (young players developing, other additions).
  21. I don't really buy this sudden change of heart at the very end. I think all along he had certain things he wanted and most teams (including us) had the ability to give them to him and he would've gone to whichever team best met those conditions. Everything along the way was just a part of negotiations. The Browns wound up being the team to give him what he wanted in the end.
  22. I think if we sign Brown or Armstead for LT then it'll be pretty clear we're going QB. If not then I think LT is more likely.
  23. Probably true, and I'd let the other teams make that mistake then. Reaching for Pickett just isn't a good idea for this team. We could get a similar caliber QB in the mid/late 1st round next season easily. Either nab the BPA (likely a LT) at 6 or trade down and get back some of that day 2 capital we've thrown away recently. But yeah there's a good chance we do take Pickett at 6. I'd be excited and hopeful about having him but would not be happy about the value there ultimately. Edit: then again I will also point out that I absolutely HATED the idea of considering Justin Herbert a few years ago and thought he was only worth a late 1st rounder at most. Obviously we know how that has turned out, so my opinion doesn't mean all that much...
  24. I was talking about the Falcons. Mariota is a good bridge QB
