Rapoport: Panthers expected to be in the mix for Watson.

There will not be bad offers this year. They’ll get an absolute haul for him. -
Rapoport: Panthers expected to be in the mix for Watson.

Waiting to trade him does nothing but hurt the Texans. Sure they can try to play hardball with Watson and call his bluff or try to mend fences, but there’s no real incentive to doing that if Watson won’t play ball and just wants out 100%. They just hurt themselves to spite Watson which makes no sense for them. It has nothing to do with the Texans’ reputation, it has to do with what they would get in return for a trade. In the NFL assets that are further out in the future hold less value, so if they delay past this current draft there is a value decline there. Then also, to your point, Watson’s reputation and value takes a hit the longer he goes without playing. Yes teams will still definitely want him even if he sits out a full year, but it will absolutely harm his market value. Watson coming off an MVP caliber year in 2020 is worth much more than Watson who hasn’t played in nearly 2 years (which is what it would be if he sits out all of 2021). And in addition, this draft is going to produce 3-4 highly drafted QBs that will take 3-4 teams out of the market for Watson (and also prevent Houston from replacing Watson with 1 of them in this stacked class). All of this would lead to them getting less for Watson if they wait. I agree that it’s possible he may not be traded until draft day, but if he is 100% adamant on wanting out, then he’ll be traded by the end of day 1 of the draft. Not any time after that. -

Like I said, it's all dependent on if Watson will sit out. If he will then he just sits out and the Texans are absolutely fuged and will be utter garbage while not getting anything in return for Watson if they don't trade him. The longer he sits out the less they get in return in a potential trade. Also important to note that every single team in the league who has any tiny question about their QB situation will be in on this. Many will be priced out of the market fairly quickly but every single team that doesn't already have their guaranteed franchise QB will be inquiring at least. It's in the Texans' best interest to have this solved before the draft, as if they do trade him they'd have a great opportunity to replace him in this draft. -

It all depends how far Watson wants to take it. If he takes it as far as Palmer did in Cincinnati, then he has the leverage and the Texans have very little, especially because of the NTC that he'd only waive for certain teams. Normally the teams have the leverage but with a star QB who is willing to sit out (that's yet to be seen with Deshaun) they have really no choice but to trade him where he wants to go. -

McC, #8 overall and 1st rounder next year could do it. Would be worth it for us. -
He’s pretty solid. Not untouchable in a potential trade, but I think we should keep him around for a while. Not the best defensively but his shooting has been great and he can get to the basket. Could be a solid complimentary piece here down the road.

Prime Tom Brady or Prime Aaron Rodgers - Who would you want?
t96 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
In my opinion, QBs can’t be compared across generations so there’s no such thing as a GOAT. And also my opinion, the conversation of greatest QB of the 2000s and 2010s generation is between just 2 players: Rodgers and Manning. Brees and Brady are in the tier below those 2. I wouldn’t think twice about taking Rodgers over Brady. Easy decision. -
@Zod or other mods, since when do we allow posts to post reports from actual "fake news." This is some random account with no credibility, that has now had multiple threads posted about it as if it's actually noteworthy (which it's not). I know it's the offseason but still...

Speaking of Dan Morgan and Fitterer...

What does Luke have to do with Chinn? Luke is a pro scout for us, he's essentially just watching film of our opponents to try to pick things/tendencies up to help us gameplan for them... Sure he kind of mentored him at times and gave him some tips but I wouldn't read a ton into that. -
Was watching the Canes, was this game as close as the score indicated? After last game and with Hayward out I was expecting a blowout...

It’s on my list but I haven’t seen it yet. Definitely need to soon

There’s no way Bridgewater is the starter next year, right?
t96 replied to Kentucky Panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Depends how Rhule wants to bring along a rookie QB. Teddy could start next year and then whichever QB we draft could take over in 2022. Or the rookie could start from day 1 next year. My preference is the former and I feel very strongly about that, but we have no idea what Rhule wants to do. -
Something I thought of that is on the brighter side as far as news surrounding the covid goes... Utah Jazz organization had 58 people tested after it was revealed 1 player had it. Symptoms could take 2 weeks to show and a Pistons player apparently got it after playing them a few nights before... They played other teams who played other teams and had practices, etc. This is a sport where guys sweat like crazy, have a ton of physical contact, high fives (coaches, other assistants on the bench, players, etc.), wipe their faces, all are touching a ball that gets tossed around after all of this.... Only 3 (!!!) people total have tested positive in the NBA. That is a very small amount considering the environment, where you’d think with all the contact and touching, there’d be a lot more spreading when someone already has it and goes through the practices and games, etc. Maybe it doesn’t really spread as fast or as easily as many think and this will all be over with sooner rather than later? Hoping this is the case.

What’s the factual scientific link between coronavirus and global warming?

She get surgery? I’ve got a 12 year old cavachon that has a partially torn CCL. Vet recommended we try to let it heal on its own which we’ve been doing but it’s been pretty close to a year now and while he seems to be getting better he’ll still limp or not walk on it at times. One thing though is he hasn’t been in any noticeable pain or discomfort at all with it at any time, just a slight limp sometimes or keeping weight off of it at times. Hope yours gets well.

And Fua and McClain while we're at it.

Video: Kawann Short talks Vernon Butler, contract status

Compare KK talking about his contract to Josh talking about his contract... Love and respect Josh but I rather favor KK's demeanor. -
4.53 vs. 4.36 A .17 difference is a huge difference. And the tape of the two backs up these 40 times. Hill plays so much faster than Garrett it's not even funny. Garrett and Hill probably aren't even competing with each other for a spot. Garrett with Philly, Bersin, Norwood, etc. and Hill with Ginn and Byrd. And while I'm certainly excited about Garrett it's pretty unlikely he makes the roster, unless we keep 6.
-
We don't need more speed while having Ginn. Byrd will likely stick on the PS another year while waiting to replace Teddy if we let him go.

Don't look for a big move to replace Josh Norman
t96 replied to Jeremy Igo's topic in Carolina Panthers
Butler is definitely not a project, and the CBs aren't "projects." The seem raw, but DG doesn't draft "projects" this early. -
How do you think the team views Treadwell?

Well I took a look. That very last photo is fuging crazy good Jeremy. Feels like I'm on the field right there with them. Being on the field after a Super Bowl must be the most insane thing ever.
