I hope Mahomes can play through it and win today and then be close to 100% for an epic SB against the Packers. But mainly I just want the Bucs to lose today.

Orlovsky thinks he’s gonna wind up going to the Colts and both those teams make a lot more sense for Stafford than us. I highly doubt we wind up with Stafford and now the Lions are another team who will take a QB ahead of us... Starting to think maybe we should go all in on Watson

Fox analyst says he heard that Watson has interest in Panthers!

My issue with Harden is him getting fat and not trying early in the season with Houston. That’s just a POS thing to do to your current teammates. I get he wanted out but there’s a much better way to go about doing it. -
The reason I chose Moore is that he needs a new contract soon and it’s somewhere we can save money too. If we dealt McCaffrey we’d still eat a ton of that cap hit and then we’d definitely have to give Moore a huge contract or we’d have very few weapons for Watson...

I think they’ll want a young core player too rather than a 1st that is 2 years away... 8 overall, 2022 first rounder, Moore/McCaffrey and some other day 2 pick(s). -
Speaking of Dan Morgan and Fitterer...

I get the joke but on a serious note, I just can’t possibly imagine Luke butting heads with anyone off the field.... -
We won't have the opportunity. He is 100% not hitting the free market. Either back in Dallas on an extension, the tag or he's tagged and traded. They're not letting him walk without anything in return.

I get that, and I also think it's likely we grab a new QB this offseason but Rhule and Tepper technically already got their "new QB." They moved on from Cam who wasn't all that far removed from an MVP and then were involved in picking Teddy. I do think they've seen enough from Teddy that they will move on from him this soon but I don't think it's the 100% sure thing that it would seem to be if they hadn't already signed a QB to a starter contract last year.

I don't know poo about these guys. Anyone who has the time and knowledge willing to put some info about each of them in parenthesis next to the names quoting the post (i.e. expected draft round, good/bad at x,y,z, etc.)?

Definitely the first Bucs game. Handed them the win with his horrible decision making and throws. Considering Teddy has no aggressiveness to his game or deep threat, that was the first nail in the coffin. He was sold as a guy who would be safe with the football and make good decisions. That game was more like something from Winston. Then all the other games where he came up short on potential GWDs were the rest of the nails. I was actually willing to give him a chance at first but it became evident very quickly that there's no chance he could be a realistic short or long term option at QB if you want to win.

Fitterer roster philosophy in terms of importance and team building...
t96 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not entirely... They've drafted a fair amount of OL pretty high. All more or less busted for them. Also traded a fair amount for their LT and I believe gave him a decent contract. -
I'm at work, planning to watch it later for sure but a brief synopsis in the meantime would be nice...

LOL, that's just as absurd as the people throwing out proposals of 2 first rounders and Teddy
-
Burns is easily the most valuable player on this team and will remain the 2nd most important outside of a QB, at one of the most important positions. I wouldn't do multiple 1sts, Burns and McC, that's just too much. Burns + 8 overall and maybe a mid rounder, yes. But not a whole lot more than that if Burns is involved.

what was the context?

Seems like I'm watching an academy award winner's speech...

3 minutes in. Mention of Deshaun Watson. NFL: HERE'S A FINE FOR TAMPERING

Caserio and Easterby will both be gone in Houston within 3 years. The others all probably last a bit longer.

The Super Bowl will have 22,000 fans in the stands

At this point though I think a fair amount is resale market -- NFL not making much on that -

I think the cheapest were like $19k. -
Mid round pick would be between 3rd and 5th round. It's a pretty bad contract.

Reading that over sorry I didn't make it clear. I was comparing the circumstances surrounding the trade (a rookie QB coming in and winning the job), not the pieces of the trade. Teddy was supposed to start for the Jets that season but Darnold beat him out in camp. Same could happen here with a rookie QB, resulting in us trading Teddy.

It took the Patriots 30 years to become good

And a ton of shenanigans with a certain someone who won't be named... -
Yep the recent exodus has made many of my jerseys obsolete. Only active Panther I have is McCaffrey. Once Burns is extended I'm buying his for sure, and like you I'd probably lap up a QB jersey asap whether it's Watson or a rookie or even Stafford.

Completely agree. He clearly didn't have the mental toughness and discipline to handle adversity and after the ACL tear it just kept compounding for him from there, with his mom passing, the team sucking compared to the 1 year without him, etc. I feel bad for the guy, but the NFL is a cold hard business and you gotta be able to handle that type of stuff and work through it if you wanna stick in this league. But yeah, 2015 would've been an absurdly good year for him if he stayed healthy I think. He was definitely dominating camp.
