First three years of college burrow pretty much didn’t play at OSU. He moves to LSU and starts playing then balls out his second year there. Cam basically the same. Didn’t play at all at Florida balls out at Blinn then balls out his first year at Auburn. Pickett was at the same program for 5 years started 4/5 of those years and it took him till the final year to do something in a conference you can’t compare to the SEC burrow was in. There experiences are pretty far apart.

It didn’t take Burrow 4 years as a starter to do anything relevant in College. To me it reeks of a big fish in a small pond….

If we’re getting a new QB I would prefer to draft one. However, I think Rhule should be forced to stick with Darnold and get himself out of the mess he created. I don’t care if it’s a make it or break it year. He got himself in this poo so he should get himself out and not leverage this team’s future.

Rhule sure has done well to set us up for a strong year 3.

Do you think Rhule can make a similar turnaround next season. Even if it’s not the playoffs but a winning record with one pick in the top 100?

He obviously knows Rhule better than we do.

I’m with you on starting with offense first then defense. One of the reasons I was initially excited for Rhule was on the predication we would be switch gears to offense first. I would only be comfortable trading DJ for picks if it contributes to building in a very under invested and weak OL. We can’t make the most of our offensive weapons till that is fixed. Having one top 100 pick this season makes that hard to do. Most importantly DJ is a free agent in after what will be a lame duck year. I don’t think this team has the luxury of putting money into a WR who isn’t necessarily game changing.

Shot in the dark but, do you know any doctors that can fix this franchise?

Frankly even with more context his statements on Darnold hardly paint Sam in a better picture. I would argue it makes Sam’s situation even more depressing.

I think we used up all the good karma/luck this franchise had for the next 10 years when we lucked into Cam and Luke. It’s gonna be a while before we refill our inventory.
