  1. I still remember Darnold being annoited around here after the fourth game or so. By the final game he played here, many people around here wanted him gone. I saw him as a stopgap while we should've accumulated additional talent. Instead, we dumped most of our assets - including Darnold - to draft a QB and figured that was somehow going to work. In retrospect, very much a Jets type of move. Darnold's definitely in a better position to succeed with the Vikings but I expect him to either falter when things get harder and/or get hurt because I found him to be injury prone. Like when he went on IR for his ankle in pre-season or when he concussed himself against the Falcons.
  2. This shouldn't even be a discussion. Luke was all but universally praised by his peers and pundits as an absolute cerebral menace that could both blow up run plays and pick off passes. He set the bar for linebackers high enough that I dare say no one since then has been able to match.
  3. Oh, yeah. In the game no one watched, Cardinals won at the end with a field goal. Harbaugh Chargers not looking good when two of their wins were against us and the one team we ourselves beat.
  4. And their reward is Godwin likely seriously injured.
  5. Need a sadder Mayfield picture. I got one...
  6. Oh, the other game's on ESPN+. Screw that.
  7. Russ's best skill is somehow making every receiver's catch stat go to 99.
  8. Throw trash on field gets a trash call reversed? Cleveland fans wondering why that didn't work for them ages ago.
  9. What a godawul game... but at least the Saints are getting pounded.
  10. Sure, let's trade away even more valuable picks for yet another mid QB because Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield worked out great for us. And on the record, I still think those two are rather mid with their new teams, but have far better talent around them than they ever had here.
  11. I honestly forgot about TMJ. I can't even name one thing he did here.
  12. Not impressed with the Bills, tbh. They'll probably win the division by default, but game should not have been that close.
  13. Penalty for improper criticism of the officials.
  14. Zuerlein has a special connection with the goalposts tonight.
  15. I sometimes wonder why the flea flicker is still in NFL playbooks.
  16. Make an offensive lineman a tight end? Instant improvement in blocking and as a catcher... well, not throwing to this guy is likely a net gain. I say this as a joke and yet, the Lions are kinda sorta doing this so there. This is the perspective I had when Canales was hired. Worst case scenario, let him draft his own guy and see what happens. Exception would be if the offense even with Dalton looks inept which I would say it doesn't but has a lot of hiccups. Some of the issues Reich had here were also present in Indy.
  17. It's too early to judge but my general thoughts at this moment: QB: Far too much assumptions to make but on the face of it, this is a demerit for Canales because he was supposed to make BY look better and somehow, he looked the worst he had been. I don't consider this fatal because - at least on my end - Canales should get the chance to get the QB he wants if/when BY is not the answer. Dalton isn't his guy either but he is playing pretty much how he had been playing elsewhere. Playcalling: A mixed bag. I do like how we’re willing to attack downfield more often, but I think we're overdoing it considering the paramount important of TOP because our defense is utterly putrid and wasting downs on low percentage plays does not sit well with me. This ties into not running the ball enough, sometimes Canales had said we'd be doing. Overall scheme: Better than last year, but that's such a low bar. Not sure if what we have connects with the supposed mantra of getting the ball out within 2.x seconds. Challenges: Nothing egregious that I can recall. Timeouts: A bit weird at times but also nothing egregious. Decision making: We've been on the backfoot too often to make a good assessment. Going for it on 4th down is all but a given. Roster management: More Coker = Good. Ian Thomas = Why?
  18. That is one of the most Daniel Jones throws I've ever seen.
  19. Burrow burned the defense with his legs.
  20. We fought better than the Cowboys are against the Lions so that's... something, I guess.
  21. Hard to be excited when the expectation is Kirk Cousins having a picnic on the field before throwing to a wide open receiver while three more starters go down with injury.
  22. That run defense is almost Panthers level bad.
  23. First thing on the list for anyone willing to be a GM under Tepper should be getting the best severance package possible.
