He knows that throwing a few interceptions in training camp is little cause for concern, especially given Reich’s comments today when he confirmed that they are encouraging Bryce to take risks in practice to find out what works. He chose to sensationalize Bryce’s interceptions in camp to make people think they are excessive and are a cause for concern, neither of which are the case. Yellow journalism is alive and well.

I think Bryce was a bit self conscious about his song selection and didn’t realize that would get out of the locker room. I remember being his age and having a Mariah Carey cd that I liked but was too embarrassed to put in my car cd case that my friends would see. I have no idea what Steve was doing either. Maybe Bryce got ribbed by his teammates for it already and was just in that head space. It seems like he and Smith have a fine relationship, Bryce was comfortable enough to check him a little and Steve tried to help Bryce feel less self conscious about it and they were able to bring it back to center in the end.
