I thought firing Rhule was the right move. The way the team looked, I didn’t think they had a hope in the world for generating offense without McCaffrey. I did think we should have traded both McC and Burns for the tank, but tbh I thought trading McC would be enough to get us the #1 or #2 pick. With as low as my opinion was of him, I didn’t think it was possible to underestimate just how much Rhule was holding this team back. Boy was I wrong.

I disagree. Matt Rhule’s first year was the year to take a nose dive. We knew at that point that the other teams in the division were just a couple years away from being garbage. All 3 had old QBs they were trying to make one or two final runs with. We had a head coach who was new to the NFL and an OC who hadn’t OC’ed at any level. This was the year that we should have been winning the division with a young and hungry group, and maybe Trevor Lawrence had we tanked hard enough. But no, Mr. 7 year plan thought he was the second coming of Chuck Noll. But I think I’ve finally figured it out. This whole time he was talking in dog years, which much better explains him blowing his load on retread QBs every year.

Can’t blame Wilks. You can’t ask coaches and players to tank, and you especially can’t blame an interim coach who does not have a hc contract for next season.

The 4th worst record only has a 1.5% lower chance at the #1 pick than the 3 worst records, the 5th worst record only has a 3.5% lower chance. The NBA is fuging atrocious, they care so little about parity and bad teams turning things around and meanwhile the teams with the stars literally cheat fans out of money by sitting their whole team for a game at the last minute after fans have already paid money to see the stars.
