Maybe they liked Deonte and Moore more. Smith had medical flags. We are not privy to the actual inner workings of a draft. It's shitz and giggles for us, it's their job. Example of my silly mocks All trey draft. Trey lance, tre hill, Trey smith, then any player who is a third III. Or the tough to pronounce draft. Guys with like 8 vowels in their name. Believe it or not these strategies could have produced some decent drafts but silly. Coulda woulda shoulda second guessing is a game to play couple years from now.

The Lions are having a nice draft. Hate the Falcons so much. Grant and Pitts are gonna be problems.
-
Forgot bout Trill. There is a ton of talent still available.
-
Favorite players on the board. Jabril Cox, Dylan Moses, Daviyon Nixon, Cisco, Ar'Darius Washington, Trey Smith,Trey Hill, Elerson Smith and Jonathon Marshall. We digging for gems.

Matt Rhule “I thought Scott was masterful today”

Fitterer has finesse. The ability to move up and down the draft without doing dumb moves. When compared to past trade moves ( Little, Kelvin, Everett, and Amanti Edwards) if it was not so painful it would be funny. This is what a competent GM looks like. Just to compare check out Giants and WFT to us after the draft. -
Round 3(b) - Carolina Panthers Select Notre Dame TE Tommy Tremble
mickeye76 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
This kid is a old school blocker with some move capability. -
Stokes and Newsome were favorites of many as second round options. Maybe we were smart to take Horn we did.

Matt Rhule on Jaycee Horn - Why he is the best fit
mickeye76 replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
No panic. Horn was obviously higher on the board than many thought. -
Caleb could be the best of draft at his position but injuries and Horn landing in a perfect spot could derail that. Let's go Horn shut down.

Leatherwood and Phillips were the biggestreach till. ..

It's bout to get crazy.

No big Samoan tackle for us. Slater is backup plan?
-
Falcons are a flashy team. Julio and Ridley have worked out but.... Defense is marshmallow soft.
-
Moving fast. Falcons suck.
-
Interesting very interesting. Maybe fields is gonna slide.
-
Fields? That's my guess but if Shanahan has a hard on for doughy white boys it could be big Mac.
-
I agree dline is weak this year. Paye and Barmore are the best of the group. Linebackers are a nice group though. JOK, Cox, Collins, Parsons, Bolton and Moses will be pro bowlers.

PFN is a nice simulator. I also use it ( way too much recently) my last minute mock with teddy b pick. 8. Rashawn Slater 39. Richie Grant 73. Liam Eichenberg 113. Ihmir Smith-Marsette 151. Trey Hill 191. Kary Vincent Jr 193. Simi Fehoko 222. Avery Williams Breakdown of why these guys. Slater, Liam and Hill could solidify the oline. If Moton wants to play hardball Liam could be RT. If Moton sticks around Liam and Slater compete on the left. Both Slater and Liam could play guard. Hill is really underrated at Center. Future lineup. LT- Liam. LG- Slater. OC - Hill. RG - Daley. RT - Moton. Avery and Kary are utility secondary veterans with special teams agilty. Simi and Ihmir would be awesome upside gambles in the slot. Grant and Chinn would make a young complementary safety combo.

QB - Lawrence but Fields is my b choice. Not sold on big Mac, golden boy Wilson or poor man's Cam Lance. RB - Najee Harris is a Gurley style freak athlete. Somebody gonna be real happy with him. That said Javonte Williams a close runner up. I'm old school I like my running backs big. WR - Chase is a complete WR. Better size than Smith and Waddle. His college running partner Terrance Marshall is a favorite of mine. Marshall could be this year's Justin Jefferson. LT - Sewell. Big fan of the Ducks recent oline. Eichenberg is my fave backup plan. IOL - Creed mfing Humprey. Top center by miles. The Treys are gonna be solid too. Trey Hill and Trey Smith are big nasty and will be assets on anyone's oline. I'm gonna break this up cause I'm droning on and it's late. But also cause I agree with ya on Cisco, Horn, Collins and Pitts. Though Grant, Samuel Jr, Cox and Baby Gronk are personal faves.

He has slowly become the pick I want most. I just like the gamecock ties and the raw talent and style of play. Action has never impressed me. Jackson is a solid number 2 corner and would be a superstar at slot but... A Horn and Grant first two rounds would make our secondary a force.
-
I would rather overdraft a LT than a TE. Ebron, Hurst, Henry etc have not produced as well as other positions at similar draft spots.
-
Sewell and Baby Gronk > Pitts and Radnunz/ Liam etc. Much for the same reason I would take Sewell over Pitts. In the second I like a safety or corner over a tight end.

Alex Smith displeased with how he was handled in Washington
mickeye76 replied to JawnyBlaze's topic in Carolina Panthers
I always wanted to like Ron ( players coach, hard nosed and old school.) Problem is I think he might be too old school and just hard headed. Smith deserved better. For that matter Cam did too. -
POV: You are Joe Brady. What do you want in the draft?
mickeye76 replied to CanadianCat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Trade down. Let someone else take the developmental QB. If a future HC gig is the goal that's when Brady picks his QB. Protect Sam and get a weapon. Chargers trade 13 and 47 for 8. 13. Darrisaw 39. Grant 47. Terrace Marshall
