  1. All had been there AND successful for many years. Not a 2.0 of a previous awful stint including hiring the coach that just got fired. And who was first scapegoat out the door when things started to go bad. As was predicted by many of us. Let’s start with the Steelers. Who runs their personnel decisions. Tomlin or Colbert. Not like I’m a fan who would know or anything. Sorry the horse you picked has sucked but it was easy to see coming when you have some knowledge and don’t just try to further whatever that days agenda is. After the Steelers we can go to the next team. And the next. Maybe some of the many threads where i(and other like LG) basically called the whole season. There are lots of them. Where are yours?
  2. I’m sure they do in your reality. But the GM was there before them in all cases. There are many more. Why not be specific as to which you disagree with. “Because you said so” isn’t a valid point for any subject
  3. I would pay him just to go to Vegas with me so i could bet against every word he said?
  4. Steelers, Ravens, Colts, Bucs, Titans. That’s off the top of my head. How many more you want?
  5. A real GM would have probably have solved many of the other issues. Rhule the executive never gave Rhule the HC a chance with his lack of understanding the salary cap and value.
  6. Sure Hurney did. Yet amazingly, after he left, this staff gave another unproven QB a large guarantee so he would feel good.
  7. Your using a number that isn’t relevant if you keep him. Because if they kept him, his cap hit was 23M for 2021. And another 5M in dead cap in 2022. That was part of the 17M.
  8. Where. In 2021, Keep Teddy add 6M. Remove Sam/Cam 10.7M Savings. 4.7M in 2022 Teddy is cut with a 5M cap hit. Remove 19M savings 14M. Thats 18.7M. You’re claiming around 30M.
  9. I know. But you forgot a major part of the equation. The money it would cost to keep Teddy. Where are those numbers figured in?
  10. Where’s the extra 6M Teddy would have got to stay this year. Or the 5M of dead cap in 2022? Or the 3rd round comp pick he cost? Getting rid of a 1 year/31M mistake on what I was assured was a “team-friendly” contract(lol) isn’t the issue. It was doing the exact same thing again. Guaranteeing way too much money to QBs who never showed anything to deserve It. Something pointed out numerous times when all these moves happened. And the Panthers could have had 10 6th rounders and still not taken Trey Smith. They passed him up for a LS. Every other team should be embarrassed as well.
  11. That’s been the projected number for a long time. Every cap space number is already based on the anticipation it would be that. Here’s an article showing it was decided as a placeholder on May 26th. From the same website….lol. https://www.nfl.com/_amp/nfl-nflpa-agree-to-208-2m-salary-cap-ceiling-for-2022-season
  12. This entire article has been written by a few on here from day one of this regime. Confirmation Bias has been the key to believing any move was more than a “win-now” since the day Teddy was signed. Gilmore is one of the least of any of those issues. Negative trolling just seems to turn into fact around here awfully fast.
  13. Really? Tell us how that worked out in your head?
  14. I see your point but he’s never been more than a calculator for the Steelers. No decisions. No scouting. No one worried he’s gone.
  15. What is his talent? What has he done to merit even a mention of a GM job? Almost every move has been a poor cap decision. His exact responsibility. Now, no one may be listening too him, but he hasn’t done anything at his current or former job to warrant this kind of attention.
  16. Where did these sources get their info from. It’s exactly what we are talking about. Credibility. Just like sources reported that they would rotate QBs. And you swallowed that thing whole.
  17. Who questioned the sources? I’m talking about words straight out of their mouths. “I wanna win a SB with Cam.” “Player A is important to our future”. Then cut shortly thereafter. How about recently. Some people were gullible enough to believe we would rotate QBs against WFT. Just because Rhule said they would. How did that work out for you? What else you got?
  18. Most of this board has been blasting this exact topic for the last 2 months. So don’t act like it’s just me. And if you don’t understand why Darnolds 23.6M is just as bad(if not worse) than Kalils 25M than that is why we can’t agree. The mistake wasn’t that Darnold didn’t work out. It was that there was no legit reason to pick it up at all. Everyone misses on players. Front offices aren’t supposed to bet money with nothing to gain. You would have thought they learned that lesson with Teddy. Guess not.
  19. If Darnold works out, he’s signing long term and his first year cap hit would probably be even lower than 19M. They are still paying it. So what was the benefit. If they were willing to give him 19M for his ego, do you really think they wouldn’t sign him long term before next year. So they save nothing under the BEST of scenarios. Anything else is just loss. I pointed this out well before they even exercised the option. In multiple threads. Want to see all the exact same arguments from before they did. And after. And during the Summer. Signing Cam had nothing to do with the ignorant decision made in May with Sam. It may be bad as well. Cam being here has to do with Sam sucking/injured. But Cam sucking is just the next bad decision they have made if so.
  20. What are you gonna show me. Some fluff piece that said a owner asked the guy who ruined the team twice to pick his new HC by himself. We know that they would never not be truthful in everything said in press conferences and interviews. Those aren’t facts. That’s your anti-Hurney narrative wanting to blame everything on him. He did plenty of bad on his own. Maybe we can discuss that Kalil restructure again. Those were good times. Facts weren’t your friend I then either.
  21. Anytime you want to discuss facts, I’m all for it. Name the topic. It wouldn’t be the first time you have embarrassed yourself on here.
  22. Under what scenario was exercising the option of benefit to the Panthers. They bet 19M on a hand where they was no prize. Cam has nothing to do with this. He was paid for this year. Not given a 19M “hug” from a team that has one OL.
  23. Wasted money and dead money are the same thing. If you pay him 19M for 3M value, then what’s the difference. And Cam is starting. Your whole scenario has Darnold as a backup. What’s that value per game? Everyone is looking for a way to spread it out but you maintain that it’s OK because it’s all in one year. For a guarantee that never had a chance of being a smart move.
