Not sure where those numbers are coming from. Burns is on the second to last year of an 8 year contract that pays him an AAV of $8M per year and that was signed well before the cap began to rise. And Slavin is going to get paiddddd!!! I’d bet my house that he’ll be making $8M plus. If he’s not then it’s only because he took a hometown discount.

Those guys (Burns/Slavin) were all paid before the cap went up though. Pesce is going to want to make as much as Severson. I’d be shocked if he signed for less than $5.5M a year.

Arfield is another older player (34) that comes over from Rangers. He should provide depth at the AM position but I don’t see him being able to go a full 90. In all competitions he had 9 goals and 1 assist in 43 matches during the 22/23 season.

The team looked fantastic (outside of losing our composure) last night under the tutelage of what is essentially a college level coach, so what do we do… we bring back the guy who could never get that type of performance out our group.

I’d want Zion and even then I’d also want their 14th pick because gambling on Zion’s health in and of itself is worth the 14th pick. The safer option is taking Henderson or Miller and trying to develop them into a star. If the Hornets don’t feel like they can do that then they need to self-reflect on why and make the needed corrections (i.e. coaching changes, front office changes, etc.).
