Another thing this does is open up a roster spot. The Canes snuck Kase on LTIR a couple weeks ago and I’d be surprised if he returned at all. So theoretically the Canes could take on a $4.5M contract as long as the team we are trading with retained 50% of the contract.

Couple of notes from Rod’s radio interview. Patches is unlikely to play tomorrow but he avoided a major injury, the team is going to be very cautious with him in regards to any injuries as he continues to work his way back from his achilles injury. The goalie situation will be resolved soon, Rod does not want to use a 3-man rotation, expect Kochetkov to head back down to Chicago. For what it’s worth, Rod said Kochetkov’s lengthy absence a while back was due to an injury.

Now Necas Is hurt… guys need to pick their head up and stop fuging running into each other. Patches got hurt when he bumped into Noesen and now Necas is hurt after bumping into Svechnikov.
