I didn’t like the term he got, too many years for me. If KK can be a 60 point 2C on his current contract then the Canes will be good for a longggg time. Getting away with paying $4.8M for a good 2C is larceny.

That’s not entirely accurate… as someone who follows Charlotte FC extensively… players did not stop showing up for training… the Twitter account TopBin90 (Charlotte FC rumor account) never mentioned anything like that. What was mentioned was that MAR was frustrated with the budget for the team which led to his iconic interviews where he said “We (Charlotte FC) are fugged” (translated from Spanish) and “I’m not Harry Potter, I can’t do magic.” Additionally, many players liked MAR and even showed up at his house to say goodbye, many also didn’t like him (ex. Anton Walkes). The disconnect stemmed from the budget. It’s obvious that MAR wanted to spend big as where Tepper and Krneta wanted to be budget team. There were certainly other issues like MAR’s unwillingness to trust MLS players and his preference of foreign players, but overall both Tepper and Krneta deserve the blame for making the hire in the first place… just like Tepper deserves the blame for hiring Rhule.

Trading McCaffrey for what would amount to an early third round pick… fug no.

It’s go time… Kochetkov and Rees went back to Chicago and Marty came back up; Bear is still here and Drury is not… but that could change in the coming weeks.

Don’t think it’ll be instant but I expect him to be gone eventually, can’t imagine the Canes want to pay $2.2M for the 8th defenseman.

He was sent down for cap purposes but from the sound of it he actually made his way to Chicago as where Martinook did not (paper transaction). Marty will be back as soon as they can move Bear and at that point they might bring Drury back up as well. I think the big thing here is that Drury is waiver exempt because he’s on his ELC and Noesen is not. Instead of losing of Noesen, the Canes might just move Drury between Chicago and Raleigh a lot. Still not 100% on this though cause there’s a lot of moving parts.

Last lines before opening night. Obviously things could change between now and puck drop… Drury could be back, Bear could be gone, Marty could be back… who knows…

Officially official… 1 year / $750K Canes have just enough cap space to bring Drury back up, once Bear is shipped out then Marty can be brought back up.

As someone who has interned for a college football program… the HC being involved with the social media team is STRAIGHT OUT OF COLLEGE. The HC was always involved with the social media team and with social media in general, there was actually a guy I worked with who got fired because they didn’t like a post that he made about the team on a non-affiliated school message board, how they linked it to him, I have no idea.

Well… another L in the column. If the city of Charlotte can land Wembanyama and Stroud then we might be going places.
