Sam Darnold’s $19M fifth year option has a lot to do with that… shout-out Panthers front office.

Outside of Moton and Horn everyone should be available. Moton has a hefty salary but it’s a fair price for a top three right tackle. With Horn, there’s a solid chance that he plays well above his rookie deal. Everyone else should be available for the right price.

The bench seems more engaged tonight. This team has all of the pieces to be very good other than a quality starting big man but they have to want it and be engaged like they are tonight.

Seems like the absolutely worst case scenario is that IT will be a very good veteran presence for us.

I’m impressed with Detroit every time we play them, I’m surprised their record isn’t better.

It appears that we will be without Swiderski tonight as he is fixing issues with his green card. As for the current roster, if we run a 3-4-3 like we did in Charleston then it could look something like this. Keep in mind not all of these players will be active. Our roster sits at 26 but only 18 are allowed to be active on game day. Well… the time has come, it all starts today. Because there isn’t a ton of interest yet, I figured that we can have one general thread (similar to what is done in the Hornets forum) and as interest picks up we can start to create individual game threads. I’ve come to the conclusion that we better be up by two when our opponents pull their goalie because we’re for sure going to give up a goal.

The pundits at the senior bowl certainly seemed the indicate that Willis has the best arm in the class. He’s not as accurate as the rest of the field on the intermediate throws but his deep ball is a thing of beauty.

Not a fan of Strong because it’s tough to tell if he’s a system QB or he can actually read a defense. Nevada’s offense was tailored for Strong with a lot of quick reads and screen passes minimizing his lack of mobility. In the NFL that isn’t going to work. And for all the talk about his arm, he doesn’t even have the best arm in the class… that award goes to Malik Willis. If you are taking a QB at six you probably go Corral. If you are taking one in the middle of the first you probably go Howell. If you are in a position to draft for the future you take Willis whenever you feel comfortable.

Good insight, I was wondering why he did that as well.

This just reads like the Panthers paying a little over what Luvu is worth in hopes that with an expanded role next year his contract will turn into a steal. Ultimately this deal will be judged on how Luvu develops in coverage because that’s what kept him off the field. His missed tackle percentage of 4% was fantastic but his pass coverage percentage of 100% wasn’t. Hopefully this means we are letting Carter walk, his play did not take off with the expanded role. Stanford is the only other linebacker (besides Reddick) that is not under contract for next year.

This is a solid deal if he’s a starter, not so much if he has the same role as last year.

This is a bummer as Gabby would have been a fan favorite but from a team perspective I get it. Gabby would have required an international slot and we really need those remaining slots for DP’s. Hopefully Obertan remains in Charlotte and goes back to the Charlotte Independence.

Need some sort of shakeup. A trade or something.
