Up by 9 with one to go… need our best quarter of the season to put the demons of Philly behind us.
-
Good response by the Hornets. I like the change in the defensive philosophy that the Hornets are going with. Hack the poo out of Giannis, Embiid, or whoever is in the post and make the opponent earn them from the line.
-
Bad coaching there by JB. A timeout was needed after Philly cut it to 10. Hope that doesn’t come back to bite us.

This is Gordon’s best game. His defense has been great tonight and his shots are falling. I’m also impressed with Plulmee’s defense tonight. If LaMelo continues to find the open man and Terry gets going then we might just do this. Cody is providing good depth off the bench.
-
Gordon’s on pace for another 40+ point game and we’re gonna need it.
-
If all goes well, we could be a game outside of 5th by the end of the night.

I originally thought Bridges was our best player but after the past few weeks I’m leaning towards it being Rozier. Since January 1st: Rozier: 21 PPG (49%FG, 47%3P, 82%FT), 4.4 RPG, 3.6APG, 1.4SPG

Here’s an updated look at the roster… for now I will keep McGree on it. GK - Kristijan Kahlina (XI), Pablo Sisniega (SUB), George Marks (SUB) LB - Joseph Mora (XI), Christian Fuchs (SUB), Adam Armour (SUB) CB - Anton Walkes (XI), Jan Sobocinski (SUB) CB - Christian Makoun (XI), Guzman Corujo (SUB) RB - Jaylen Lindsey (XI), Harrison Afful (SUB) CDM - Jordy Alcivar (XI), Chris Hegardt (SUB) CM - Alan Franco (XI), Ben Bender (SUB) CM - Sergio Ruiz (XI), Brandt Bronico (SUB) LW - ? CF - Yordy Reyna (XI), Vinicius Mello (SUB), Kyle Holcomb (SUB) RW - McKinzie Gaines (SUB) Sold? - Riley McGree That’s 23 with McGree and 22 without. Charlotte can add 7 or 8 more players depending on the outcome of McGree’s transfer. Other Notes: If McGree is sold that will open up another international slot.

We’re going to be playing longer than anyone at this point.

Huge win, big game against the Sixers coming up on Wednesday.
-
Bouknight needs to play, the second unit has no scoring and outside of Rozier and Hayward everyone looks out of sync.
-
And out of left field the Canes have signed Laffer to his ELC. He will play out the remainder of this year on his ELC before becoming an RFA in the offseason. Laffer previously turned down the Canes last offseason and he was set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason with the Canes losing his rights. However, in desperate need of goalie depth, the Canes convinced Laffer to forego the remainder of the NCAA hockey season and join the NHL. The Canes will now hold Laffer’s rights in the offseason. Laffer is currently assigned to the Canes taxi squad.

Losing Oubre hurts. Martin, Washington, McDaniels, and presumably Bouknight are going to have to step up. We need one of them to provide us with Kelly’s 17.0 points per game in order to maintain our current success.

The tank lives on. Expecting Payton to draw something up to put this one out of reach. -

So Matt Rhule’s game plan was to win the game 10-9 until he realized he’d need to win it 13-12. -

Lol did Matt Rhule really run the same set of plays two series in a row… -
No Nader, Crowder, Saric, Kaminsky, McGee, or Ayton for Phoenix. Biyombo expected to get time for Phoenix.

I have no idea why teams don’t play press man against us every single snap. The route designs by Rhule are so simple that it’s impossible for our WR’s to create separation. I get that our OL can’t hold their blocks long enough to let passing plays develop downfield but you can’t keep calling screens, curls, comebacks, and slants… eventually you have to be willing to try to sling it down the field.
