Interesting that they had Drury’s line out there against the Krebs line. If they get Aho’s line out there against the Sabres fourth line then we’re in business.

Every line has some scoring, every line has some grit, and every line has some speed. I think this is probably the most balanced we can get.

I really like the lines tonight, I’ve been wanting to see some semblance of what we are rolling out tonight since we’ve been healthy up top. We essentially have three second lines and one checking line, I think that will be very beneficial and especially at home when we have last change. My only change would be on the backend. I’d rather see Skjei with Orlov and Chatfield with TDA. No matter, I think this lineup is setup to succeed offensively. I wouldn’t be shocked to see us score four or five tonight.

Saw that Carl Torbush passed away today. In my younger years I was a student assistant for a team that Torbush worked for (not UNC) and I wore a UNC hoody into the football operations building one morning on the way to do film review. A few of the coaches told me to take my hoody off but Torbush looked at me and said it was the best thing he’s seen all morning and to keep it on lol. He was instrumental in getting Peppers to UNC and was otherwise just a great human being. RIP Coach.

There’s rumors swirling that a Swiderski transfer could happen during the offseason. On one hand we’ll make a pretty penny on the transfer, on the other hand we’ll lose our best player lol.

One thing I said about Howell was that he wouldn’t be fazed by the sacks or the pressure. His senior year, he statistically played behind the worst OL in P5 football. He was sacked more times than any other QB that was playing in a P5 conference. I think the question for Howell was just going to be if he had the ability to process NFL defenses. He’s sneaky athletic, can make all the throws, and is unfazed by pressure. His success was always going to hinge on if he could decipher what NFL defenses are doing. He’s been pretty good at it for the most part though there’s times (he threw a horrible red zone INT this past week) that you can see that it’s still a work in progress.

Jeeze man… Day Trader Dave just isn’t going to learn is he. Not every problem can be fixed with money. Until he takes his hands off of the personnel decisions our FO will be just like our OL, a turnstile. And unlike our OL, I’m not sure you can blame the FO and staff for the failures of the man pulling all the strings, David Tepper. He needs to realize this isn’t the corporate bullshit world where he can just throw money at the problem to make it disappear, he can’t just buy a first round draft pick for $100 million dollars (though he’d probably try). We’re in the situation we are in because he was impatient and sold the farm for the one steed that he thought would fix the problem, yet he ended up buying a pony and now the future looks bleak because we have a ton of issues on both sides of the ball and we don’t have the draft capital to fix the problem. Please Dave, for the love of God, take your grimy Wall Street hands off of all the football personnel decisions involving the Panthers and let the people who have actual NFL experience do their jobs.

I will say this about Halak, he hasn’t had a save percentage below .900 since 2012, that’s actually incredible. He also hasn’t played behind TDA either… so we’ll see if it holds up.

For sure, his dad is business savvy, so if basketball doesn’t work out I’m sure he’ll be alright doing something business related.

I’d up it to a first round pick and a b prospect, maybe Trikozov.
