  1. Big issue with Higgins is the injuries over the past two years. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy, he was dealing with an ankle/knee injury heading into todays game. But those saying he isn’t a #1 are dead wrong. He’s missed 5 games but his projections over 16 games are 100 receptions, 1,248 yards, and 15 TD’s. Literally, the only WR putting up better numbers than Higgins on a per game basis is his running mate, Chase. You just have to ask yourself, is a guy who has missed 10 games over the past two years worth $30M a year.
  2. Oh for sure. With Rod it’s never the defenses fault. I think someone posted this in Reddit a while back. Rod with the forwards. Rod with the defense.
  3. Been MIA for a bit but just a few things. - The stars need to be better defensively. Svechnikov, Aho, and Jarvis need to really hone in on the defensive side. It almost feels like they’ve given up on Rod’s system from a defensive stand point. If those three aren’t better defensively then this team won’t go anywhere. - Ghost and Walker need to be split up. I’d rather see Orlov and Chatfield be average than Ghost and Walker be putrid. In fact, rearrange the defense. Slavin - Walker Orlov - Burns Ghost - Chatfield Let Walker be a little more offensive and let Slavin shelter him. Orlov will shelter Burns and Chatfield will shelter Ghost. Everyone gets a shelter buddy.
  4. Proud Coker dynasty owner. Sleeper app loves this guy, he’s got his own fanbase called the cokeheads.
  5. If we had the luxury of drafting a tight end I’d trade down and take Tyler Warren. I think he’s going to be elite. Just too many holes to plug on defense right now.
  6. To be fair, the Dolphins are getting elite production from Jonnu Smith for pennies.
  7. Personal opinion but I think Canales moves XL around too much. He’s been pretty damn good when he’s operating as the X and just galloping down the field. He seems to struggle a little more when playing the Y or Z. His route running and overall concept of NFL defenses doesn’t seem to quite be there when he’s playing off the LOS. His route running isn’t exactly graceful and you’ll sometimes see him carry his route too far specially against zone defense when he’s playing inside. As an X he’s really good though, especially against cover 0. Watching the Chiefs/Steelers game yesterday I couldn’t help but think that we should be using XL the way the Steelers use Pickens and they should be using Pickens the way we use XL.
  8. For sure, I just think it takes an elite QB to get the ball to his weapons if the OL play is bottom 5 bad. Obviously Stroud isn’t there yet which is why I brought up Burrow. He’s the only QB in the NFL putting up elite numbers with a bottom 5 OL. There’s a level guys have to get to before they can do what Burrow is doing and Stroud’s not there yet but he could eventually be there. Right now Stroud is a good QB when he’s put in a position with a good OL and an average QB when he has bad OL play. I don’t think he’s regressed, the situation is just different. You just hope he doesn’t pick up bad habits. As for Young, next year is the deciding year. Canales is setting him up to succeed by putting him in good situations (sans Dallas game) but since he was the number one pick we should definitely want more than a system QB. Purdy proved you can get one of those with the last pick in the draft. I will say that since the Munich game Young has a TD/TO ratio of 10/4 which translates to a 28/11 ratio over a full 17 game season. Stroud was at a projected ratio of 29/7 over a full 17 game season last year. So not a huge gap between the two if things remained constant.
  9. Stroud is going through what Young went through last year due to having arguably the worst OL in football; though Stroud is performing better than Young did with a porous OL. Maybe you can attribute that to better weapons or better coaching, regardless, neither is a finished project and comparing them now is shortsighted. This does make a good case for Joe Burrow being MVP if he can somehow get the Bengals in the playoffs. The numbers he’s putting up with a bottom 5 OL is insane. Yeah, he has elite weapons but you still need to be able to get the ball to them. Burrow has shown the ability do that regardless of how bad his OL, Strouds not quite there yet. FWIW, Lamar or Allen probably win MVP but Burrow should be in the conversation if the Bengals sneak into the playoffs.
  10. I mean BY9 and Rodgers got me to the finals in my two QB dynasty league so I say we keep him.
  11. Completely given up. Guys out there collecting paychecks and making business decisions.
  12. It is concerning that Bryce only looks like an NFL QB when he’s out of the pocket. That’s not sustainable long term. Bryce has to be able to sit in the pocket and make some throws.
  13. Greg is on one today. As he stated, someone needs to ask why there’s only been one PA called.
  14. Thank God I backed out of the bet at the last second. Got cold feet because I never get boosts on the Canes. We suck.
  15. Someone convince me to drop $500 on the Canes at -155. I got a huge odds boost and it feels like free money but I’m hesitant.
  16. The defense was actually pretty dang good under Butch Davis, the problem was the offense. If you put Drake Maye on that 2009 team instead of Bryn Renner then you’ve got a top 10 team. But Quinn, Coples, Austin, Sturdivant, Brown, Carter, Thomas, Wilson, Reddick, and Searcy all spent time in the NFL. Hell, in the 26 games from 2008 to 2009, UNC allowed 30+ points only 3 times.
  17. I get this argument but it’s so much easier to find a good QB in college than it is in the NFL. The Patriots were never in a good position to draft an elite QB under Belichick post Brady. And the fact of the matter is, elite QB’s don’t make it to free agency in the NFL. Carolina is going to have tons of NIL money to get Belichick the best possible QB and roster. I’ll go ahead and say it, Belichick will have Carolina competing for an ACC title in his second year. The bottom line is it’s so much easier for a good coach to succeed at the college level then at the pro level.
  18. So Mike Lombardi who was BB’s right hand man from 2014-16 is joining UNC as the GM. The Patriots won two SB’s during that time frame.
  19. This is correct, the $20.5 isn’t NIL money it’s revenue sharing money from the school. There isn’t a cap on NIL such as NIL collectives. This will actually help UNC because they can use a large portion of revenue sharing money on the basketball team because there will be a lot of third parties looking to get involved with UNC football and funnel money to the program.
  20. Hahaha I’m here! Just trying to take care of a relative right now but I’m lurking and going with the ebs and flows of our season. @Panthers Fan 69
  21. Puka was great in college. I actually saw him first hand because I was defensive quality control intern for a school that he played against and he torched us. His problem was staying healthy but he’s definitely a guy we keyed in on. During our research we found that he was averaging a TD about every 7 touches. He was very dynamic in college and only snuck through the cracks because injuries kept him out for quite a few games.
