  1. Good listen here as Shinyashiki discuses the current status of his contract situation. Note that Shinyashiki’s contract expires at the end of the year (December 31st, 2022).
  2. What a wild world we live in where you can get suspended for more games for gambling than whipping your dick out and rubbing it all over women…
  3. And according to reports, Lance isn’t looking too hot. He is going against one of the better defenses he’ll face all year (his own) but still…
  4. That’s some pretty good guaranteed money for Deebo, hopefully for his sake he can stay healthy.
  5. Congratulations, you learned how to use the computer today #RentFree
  6. Okay bud.. maybe he likes Howell and just felt like posting it… didn’t realize fugging Sam Howell’s success as a QB3 was now living rent free in peoples heads.
  7. I wouldn’t necessarily say that, for starters, Corral would have to truly be given a chance to compete. Up to this point he hasn’t received the same amount of reps or gotten the same run with the one’s that other two QB’s have gotten. You said it yourself, QB development isn’t an exact science. However, in order for Corral to have a shot, he has to be given a chance. Personally, I’m fine with sitting rookie QB’s if they are being put into a shitty situation. For starters, Darnold should never have started day one for the Jets. He had no protection, no receivers, and no running game. That’s just a recipe for disaster. However, the Panthers offense looks like it could be set up for success this year… great RB group, stout WR corp, adequate TE’s, and a much improved OL. That seems like a situation that you could theoretically plug Corral into and not have to worry about breaking him. But as I mentioned, he has to truly be given a chance. You can’t truly gauge a player on five reps; there’s only so much you can get from asking a guy to throw a ball into a trash can in the back of the end zone. Personally, I think coaches need to be able to decipher what kind of situation they are putting their players in and if the situation isn’t detrimental to the players growth then give them a chance to compete. In simple terms, three darts should score you more points than two, but if you purposely throw one of the three darts on the ground then what’s the point of even having three in the first place. Up to this point the staff has thrown Corral on the ground while letting Mayfield and Darnold battle it out. I don’t have a dog in the QB fight and I want the player that performs the best in preseason to start… but I also want Mayfield, Darnold, and Corral to get an equal shot at the job… something that hasn’t happened to this point.
  8. Kind of doubt that unless it was a bigger name like Higgins or Zylstra. If memory serves me correct, the only player that we had claimed last year after cuts was Grier (Cowboys). I believe Slye was eventually signed later by the Texans (before he was later released). Saunders was were safely on the practice squad last year though he did get a couple games. Keith Kirkwood was also on the practice squad and like Saunders got a few games. I’d be willing to bet that unless one of them (Saunders or Smith) absolutely tears up the preseason, they’d both clear rather easily. For as much as we like our guys, there’s 31 other teams out there that feel the same way about some of the bottom of the roster guys on their team. Additionally, teams are much more willing to invest in players that they have spent draft capital on or accrued years with. Also, it’s not like another team can claim one of our guys and then store them on the PS, they’d have to make the active roster… I don’t see that happening with either Smith or Saunders. It’s just too easy for teams to invest in what they already have and what they already know when it comes to filling out the bottom of the roster.
  9. I mean what’s the difference between him posting about Howell and you posting about the Packers fourth or fifth string WR? Howell has had a good start to camp, nearly everyone will tell you that, including Terry McLaurin. Howell is doing the best that he can against the competition he’s being put against and it’s impressing both fans and players of the Commanders. Really nothing more to the story, not exactly sure why it triggered some people. I didn’t see the poster make some asinine statement that Howell was the second coming of Rodgers… just confused about what exactly triggered you.
  10. Rodgers has a way of making guys shine, that’s for sure.
  11. I’m just taking what Cam said as verbatim, he stated his treatment was for a shoulder injury that was suffered in the second half of the 2018 season. Another few quotes from Cam indicate that he’d been battling shoulder discomfort since the game against the Chargers in 2016. See below. "I'm healthy," Newton is seen saying in September 2020. "The last time I've been healthy, that I can document, honestly, (was) 2016 and '17. That's just a fact. After that damn San Diego game -- we played the San Diego Chargers, (and) I reached out and I dove (after) I threw an interception, I messed up my AC joint. And ever since then, bro, it's just been a part of me that's been like a wounded dog, like a wounded lion all over the place. Not right. I feel good at times, but when I'm running, I still feel it.” So in reality you are probably right, Cam should have sat out much longer than he did. It might have just been an incident where his shoulder truly never healed from San Diego and while the initial surgery may have been successful, the fact that there was scar tissue there when they went back in years later could mean that he didn’t properly heal the first time. Oh well, as Cam would say, hindsight is 50/50.
  12. Cam stated himself that he had been getting shoulder treatment (presumably pain treatment among other things) for a shoulder injury that he suffered in the second half of the 2018 season (that lines up with the Steelers game). Additionally, there’s quite a bit a man can do when he’s on some good pain medicine so it’s silly to believe that just because he had a good game after the Watt incident that he wasn’t hurt. Hell, McCaffrey has had god-like games himself while playing on one leg. Bottom line is that Cam hurt his shoulder pretty badly against the Steelers and like Cam always did, he played through the injury. He was shutdown with a couple of games left in the season and then had surgery, the issue was much worse than realized and he also had to have a clean up surgery. Since then his true velocity has been gone.
  13. Odd post but it started well before that, Benjamin started the job and Watt finished it off. Cam has mentioned multiple times that he didn’t feel fully healthy until a couple of years later. I believe his exact words were that he felt like a “wounded dog”. If you fast forward a couple of years from 2016, you get to 2018… where Watt finished Cam off for good. Unfortunately shoulder injures can provide pain and clicking well after they are technically healed (personal experience).
  14. Ricci potentially has nudes of Rhule and he plays ST’s… not saying he’s a lock but it’s obvious the staff likes him.
  15. I don’t think Roberts is making the team, he’s 34 years old and there’s just too much depth in front of him that can do more. If one of Smith or Saunders can show that they can be an average KR/PR then Roberts is gone. The locks are Moore, Anderson, and Marshall. The guys that have a leg up are Higgins, due to his rapport with Baker, and Zylstra, due to his ability to do everything (WR/ST/KR). Another thing to note about Zylstra is that he was the first WR in camp to develop chemistry with Baker. I also wouldn’t read to much into Saunders running with the one’s as Smith has also had a chance to do the same. It’s more likely than not that Smith and Saunders are battling for the final WR roster spot. As for Roberts, in my personal opinion, he’ll need to average 30 yards per KR and 10 yards per PR to justify a roster spot, he doesn’t do enough of anything else to provide true value. Not to mention, both Smith and Saunders are getting a look at KR and PR… it’s in the best interest of the ball club for one of those guys to push Roberts out. In my opinion… 1. Moore 2. Anderson 3. Marshall 4. Higgins 5. Zylstra 6. Smith/Saunders The Panthers could conceivably keep seven wide outs if they feel comfortable with how Tremble’s blocking has progressed and instead of keeping three tight ends (Thomas, Tremble, and Thompson), they only keep two (Thomas and Tremble).
  16. Think he said he’s fairly new to the game. But I think the premise is that Swiderski needs to step up and become an actual leader. He’s a DP (although he’s probably the lowest paid DP in the league) and he needs to start acting like it. His body language and frustration after McNeill didn’t force feed him a ball across the six (which had absolutely no shot of getting through, mind you) was disgusting. It’s time for Swiderski to grow into a leader, this isn’t the EPL, there’s absolutely no reason for him to act like Cristiano when his play has been average at best.
  17. That’s all she wrote, back at it again on Wednesday against Wayne Rooney and D.C. United.
  18. Currently showing no lightning in the area, maybe they try to get this thing going again. Edit - Now it looks like the new system has moved right over Charlotte.
  19. Thinking this one is going to get postponed as it won’t be clear until around 12:30AM or so. Not sure the MLS wants this thing ending at 2:00AM.
  20. Swiderski’s body language after something doesn’t go his way is disgusting… frankly tired of him.
  21. End to end stuff right now. Gaines looking very active but he’s not providing good service.
  22. This is going to be a tough matchup. Columbus is hot. Etienne, Zelarayan, Diaz, and new Crew member, Hernandez have been rolling on all cylinders. Cucho Hernandez has been especially good since coming over from the EPL side Watford.
  23. Looks like all of that is headed north of Charlotte when I run it through the future radar.
