  1. I’ve already had the conversation with Mrs. Nbrs. When the time comes, I’m going full Yule Brynner / Bruce Willis / Michael Jordan. No comb over for me. Those things are dangerous in a stiff wind. No toupee either.
  2. It really is not very different than a capital investment decision. Project A improves departmental productivity by 5%. Project B improves departmental productivity by 10%. Senior management will approve (sign) only one of the two projects (QBs); which project do you propose to management? So, Project B is the obvious answer because it has twice the productivity gain of Project A, right? Well, no, not really. Project A implemented will cost $100K but has a two-year payback. Project B implemented will cost $500K and has a ten-year payback. You will choose Project A, as it has a higher IRR, faster payback and lower initial capital investment; it's a lower risk, higher return project. Senior management will choose Project A every time, and they are right to do so. Now do the same analysis with Lamar and Carr, using expected output, contract amount, draft picks surrendered and likely maintenance interval (injuries, not available to play). Expected performance is never independent of cost of acquisition and risk of failure.
  3. If not a QB, I would have guessed/bet on a true 3-4 NT, ILB or TE but what do I know... Star 2.0, come on down.
  4. He’s either whiffed completely or is doing some 5G level thinking. Is this OT even a top ten talent? If so, start him at guard (2023) and then move him to RT in 2024 and cut Moton? We have too many other needs to be doing this at 9.
  5. Mocks generate clicks and ad revenue during the slow part of the offseason, up until draft day. Would love to see the social media ‘engagement’ stats and resulting revenue; probably an r squared > .90.
  6. I keep pumping Arrrrrnold as a candidate but, no takers…
  7. Hooker’s good. Who doesn’t love a good Hooker?
  8. Tire kicking free agents. It’s a thing…
  9. We're fans. We want to think that players love us and our city as much as we think we love them. When they won't sign for a hometown discount, they're dirty money chasing whores. /s
  10. Career seppuku is an awful thing to behold…
  11. Ikwonu, Horn, Brown, DJ, Burns, CMC. Trade ups of multiple first round drafts picks will cost you the 2024 and 2025 versions of the this list. No thank you. You do you.
  12. True. The reciprocal may also be true where with Reich’s staff, drafting Richardson, Hooker, McKee or Tune without trading up may produce very acceptable long term results without losing all the trade up draft picks. We fans are understandable anxious to see immediate results after the buildup of expectations for Reich and his staff. Maybe, just maybe, Reich, Tepper, Fitt are playing long ball, and willing to draft BPA at nine and then develop a later round QB prospect. Not a popular opinion on this board and likely to cause many heads to explode, if true. YMMV.
  13. So, you would have been a ‘no retreads’ with Delhomme?
  14. Is there a performance guarantee or warranty that comes with the mega pick trade up?
  15. I guess the label ‘retread’ now covers every QB changing teams that didn’t take their previous team to the SB. A one word rejoinder to the ‘No retreads’ crowd: Delhomme.
