  1. Norv and Scott Turner did so well with Teddy in MN. That 2015 season was killer! He almost averaged a passing TD per game with Adrian Peterson at his peak. Side bar--Heineke was with Turner on those teams. The Turners love that guy.
  2. I agree we could have taken advantage of Fields or Mac whether by picking or trading down. However we could easily find ourselves in a similar situation the Titans have been in the past 2-3 years w/a reclaimed QB (Tann:Darnold), a MVP caliber RB (Henry:CMC) and that young WR core but with a better defense with Burns, Brown, Chinn, Horn, etc. Not to mention a touted coach in league circles w/ a young aspiring OC (Arthur:Brady). We simply didn't identify a QB to roll with in the draft but it's clear they looked hard if you remember the pro days. I also caution those thinking the Cards will be good. Same with Ravens. Those are two teams that should have continued an upward trend and are stalling a bit. Big make/break seasons ahead and they're both in packed divisions. Kingsbury is not successful and they've made plenty of questionable moves. And Murray has yet to show he can really take over a game minus a cool play here and there. They aren't producing and other teams have been in shorter turnaround times. 8-8 last year and it wasn't pretty.
  3. Many don't seem to realize where Baylor was post-Briles. That program had nothing, was stripped to the ground and he built it up super well. QB wise; what's been said in response is pretty clear. Programs can only pull what they can pull. NFL wise, our guys had their board. They saw a 24 y/o Darnold ahead of Fields and Mac Jones. Simple as that. So how about we see Darnold first? I mean he pulled out at 3200+ 19 TD 13 INT, 62% season with a crap team in 2019 and this past year was a bit of a dumpster fire with the team and NYJ coaching. Rhule & Brady aren't making decisions in a vacuum and now they have Fit to help guide things.
  4. To be fair, with new rules a lot of kickers strategize higher kicks to the 1 where the team can trap the returners inside the 10
  5. Herbert still has a lot to prove. Full season under his belt, his division and other teams know him now, his call styles, etc. We'll see how he responds to defenses adjusting. We had the problem with assembling a team around Cam and never clicked. Closest was with a pretty poor supporting cast in 15'. Now we're back to that Peete-Delhomme transition where we have a team assembled and need a few missing pieces at key positions (QB, LT, LB) and continued depth growth/homegrown talent.
  6. Yup, that's in part why I added the part about landing this in spite of DG and Hurney. And if Fit turns out to have found guys in Tremble, Christensen, Hubbard, & min. 1 of these later rounders, it's going to help turn the corner in a huge way.
  7. And also speaking to at the shear quality of get in talent. Getting our pick of any defensive player in the entire draft is pretty dope along with Joe Brady's favorite weapon from LSU.
  8. I'm not saying they're smash hits but if they pan out, that is a hell of a good track record. That many consistent high-end successful picks bodes well for a quick build situation. Which we may be looking at if Darnold doesn't pan out. I just don't think we're that far off and a lot of fanbases would kill for what we've been able to haul. I am willing to be a bit early to judge Marshall, bc I just think he's a stud, easy transitioning potential star. He could be huge in the league.
  9. Something I've looked past is that we have not had many busts high up in recent years. Not many teams can say this so think it's cool to consider: 1st Rounders: 2017: CMC - 2nd RB taken (Outperformed RB1 in Fournette) 2018: DJ Moore - The 1st WR taken in the entire draft 2019: Brian Burns - the 3rd DE taken in the draft (Outperformed Ferrell, closer on-par with Chase Young) 2020: Derrick Brown - the 1st DT taken in the entire draft 2021: Jaycee Horn - the 1st defensive player taken in the entire draft 2nd Rounders: 2017(1): Curtis Samuel - Played quite well, should get 3rd round comp on him if he pans out for the (Redwolves?) 2017(2): Taylor Moton - top OT in the league, just locked up long term. Our man on the line 2018: Donte Jackson - Hiccups at times but still here, still making plays. I've grown to not mind him. 2019: 2022 Miami 7th Rounder (miss) 2020(1): Yetur Gross-Matos - Mocked up to the teens, showed really great flashes, going into a big sophomore season. I love him for the future. 2020(2): Jeremy Chinn - MONSTER. 2nd in DROY voting, absolute bonafide STUD 2021: Terrace Marshall Jr. - It's hard not to like him and think big things are coming. He's passing the eye test and then some That's 1 OL, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 2 DEs, 1 DT, 2 CBs, & 1 Chinn all who are/or have all worked out so far. That right there is 10 starters in 4 years with really just 1 miss (Samuel will net us comp). Guys in every phase of the game helping us out (minus QB). Gettleman set us back with such an awful 2016 draft but we've built a pretty good squad (in spite of Hurney's other picks throughout) That is how you build a team and now I feel we're in even more trusted hands in Fitterer to land guys all over the draft and FA. We're closer than you think, a lot of teams don't have a 2-round resume like this. Comes to show that if we can quickly figure out a QB and fortify the line just a wee bit more, we're really close to being a legit threat. Just my 2 cents. Cheers.
  10. Maybe we make the thread about favorite breakfast food or something?
  11. I mean, I'm not looking that closely at timestamps on a football message board lol
  12. I'm reassured we don't sit on our dicks anymore when something isn't getting worked out. This staff looks at reality and not the relationships. Gooooood.
  13. I'm just being hyperbolic. But, I do think we could be in position to capitalize on the home-grown talent next year and target 2 OLs and a QB to make a real run at things. (Barring Sam's development/ordeal)
  14. We had Luke come in to run the eyeball test with Denzel. Luke was like, I don't see anything there. And there he was, and now, poosh
  15. Maybe another trade and we'll have ammo to get into R2 next year. Then we go with the glorious QB-OL combo 1-2. Howell-Zion Nelson here we come hehe
  16. bahaha I demand a highlight reel of that one time he walked from the lockers to practice field.
  17. Those fans are in for a rude awakening. Their bad QBs have at least been guys who can still sling it and tried to push things down field (to little to sometimes successful effect) and now, oh man..Teddy is going to rip them apart from the inside by his nothingness.
  18. Not going to lie, I forgot about that guy reeeeally quickly.
