  1. Imagine not being able to understand that some people have concerns about his size? And you are right, nobody complained about the height of our 3rd string QB last year. I hope Young tears is up next year, but I also thinks it is ok to have some concerns about his height and weight.
  2. If he is there at 9 it doesn’t mean he would have been if we didn’t move up. Us going to #1 changed things up. But I agree, rational thinking will be out the door if that happens and the melt down will be full on.
  3. There could be a cap on how much of the annual cap a single player could use, e.g. no player can make up more than 20% of the cap. That would allow for spreading the money to other positions. Not sure if feasible or not, but maybe. Also, if Lamar had an agent he would have a contract right now. Unfortunate to see him essentially sabotaging himself.
  4. I thought there was no chance, but I’ve seen him in a couple of mock drafts falling to the second round, he would be such a steal.
  5. There are essentially 2-3 people on each “side” that spam every thread with the same stuff. Mostly everyone else have had great discussions and spectacular memes (so many good laughs). Hopefully the mods can help tone that down on draft day so everyone can get exited with the potential of our new franchise quarterback as he is announced.
  6. It is interesting for someone being fine with any choice that you have been leading the charge on being divisive on the board with your “I guess you will no longer be a fan of the team if we pick Young” stuff. I hope you can move past that at some point.
  7. This is simply wrong, most Stroud supporters have concerns over Young’s size, and easily admitted Stroud was not perfect. Most are also fine with Young. You are highlighting maybe 1-2 individuals. And there has been tons of negatives from the Young crowd about Stroud as well, so I would recommend getting of that high horse of yours.
  8. I agree, Texans trying to move out of #2 seems to seal the deal.
  9. I’m a Stroud guy, but the current best guess by the majority of “sources” and reporters is that Young is the guy. I don’t get the issue with this. Nobody knows what the Panthers 100% think at this point, probably Young, but it might be Stroud, who knows. Young’s floor is 2 whole Strouds is maybe 5. This seems to be pretty clear cut.
  10. This is what baffles me, what more do you really need? I didn’t know if we’ve ever had a stronger group of reporters.
  11. No offense, but the Curry comparisons I see are terrible. Curry is a relatively tall PG at 6’3”. The major hesitations around him were never size related, it was his athleticism and level of competition.
  12. And this is a very fair criticism from the pro Young crowd. He is very inconsistent in this area. Can he improve? Was the Georgia game a glimpse of the future? If no, I understand people being very hesitant. If you think it represents what he will be, then it is also very understandable you are very high on him. I don’t know if Young can be expected to improve his height, that would be stretch to say the least (purely added this sentence for that joke).
  13. I totally agree with you, the losses were not solely Young’s and Strouds fault, they were a “team effort”, as were all the wins. I’ve just seen the Stroud losses against Michigan as something to hold against him so I was just countering that a bit.
  14. Sounds like their performance was very similar under pressure in terms of QBR, which is very interesting. Most yards etc is a little bit less interesting as the times they were pressured is a multiplier of sorts.
  15. I think the talk about his failures against Michigan are a big overblown. Those games were decided by the run game as in Michigan ran wild and the Ohio State defense couldn’t stop anything. Could he have done more? for sure, but to put it squarely on him is a stretch. Did you know that Bryce Young only had two games in 2022 where the opponent scored more than 30 points, and lost both…
  16. The success when blitzed is a combination of getting the ball out quick and accurately, as well as an indication of good o-line. Quickly getting the ball out is great. A very strong point for Stroud. When pressure arrives, that is the question. I’ve seen a lot of good examples of him navigating pressure (the Kurt Warner breakdown of the Michigan game is one example), and of course the Georgia game. So you have two choices: 1) Believe that he can do it and what he showed in the Georgia game (and other games) is what he projects to be in the NFL (common Stroud supporter view). 2) Believe the examples of him navigating pressure well are all outliers and he will not improve at the next level (Young supporters obviously supports outliers ). In the end it all comes down to what you project him to become at the NFL level.
  17. I usually say I love you enthusiasm, but I think you would benefit from slowing down a bit, Corral is nor better than Young, that is a bit crazy even for you.
  18. Question for you. If you could magically make him 6’3” and 230lbs. would you do it or do you think his size is perfect the way it is?
  19. Not sure if you have the Athletic or not, but Joe P is actually great and offers a lot of insightful writing.
  20. There are very few, if any, national reporters that are reliable. They do their best guess based on their sources. I think we currently have a very good set of writers, from Person at the Athletic to the Observer crew. If you are looking for the ultimate breaking news type of reporter, and not reporters/writers I can agree we don’t have any, but very few teams do.
  21. Yes that is the upside and future potential view I’m looking at as well.
