A very good friend of mine is a Colts fan, and he says the same thing. I expect little to no adjustments.
-
It is sad that it feels like we would be better off just buying a copy of Dane Brugler’s draft guide every year and get rid of that whole department.
-
100% this. I also can’t understand why nobody has asked that question in a press conference. It is absolutely mind boggling and why the whole offensive side of the coaching staff should be fired. It is such a basic thing.
-
That scheme would also fit our line. Let Ben choose his GM. Tell him he’s not tied to Bryce if he doesn’t want to. It could happen.

The Bears have one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL

This is 100% on Frank and his choice of scheme. And the refusal to make any changes. -
It might be to our benefit the more they distract Frank. I’m all for it.

I think our defense will show out and create plenty of pressure without Burns. But bad field position will doom us. Bears 17 Panthers 10.

What time is the actual kick off tonite?

This is a really funny and painfully true preview from CBS. I will try to watch the game, but not sure I will make it through the whole thing. -
Good luck!

You might be right, but if that’s true they should all be fired. Drafting a QB #1 overall and having to adjust the scheme so it only fits him and makes everyone else suffer is brutal.

I actually don’t think our o-line talent is bad. We have at least 4 good ish starters. A lot of other teams have comparable, or slightly worse talent, but are performing much better than us. The new scheme/coaching is the main issue for our o-line.
-
This is the one question I would like to be asked at the next press conference. Why are we using a scheme our o-line can’t execute?
-
Best way to improve the Monday morning meetings is to do better. Nobody should have had to force him to give up playcalling, he should have figured that out on his own. He also should have adapted his system to fit the team personnel. So it is his own fault. Tepper also seem difficult. Both can be true.
-
One huge strike against Frank is that he came in and said what every coach does, “we will tailor our system to our players”, and followed that with a system that doesn’t fit our o-line. That is his fault and nobody else’s. Being blindly married to a system is the sign of a limited coach unfortunately.

If you are employed by Carolina, Thursday is a must win
Martin replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
The only good next step is to clean out the front office after the season. Hire an outside consultant to do the GM search. Give that GM absolute power over any and all football decisions. Then you start fresh. -
As a newer owner I would be interested to see how a pro day works etc. But I would not be part of the decision. You intentionally ignored that part before you grouped me with some major dirt bags.
-
I’m one of those guys. I think it is totally fine for them to go on these trips, if I was the owner I would have done the same thing. What is not ok is for them to have a big say in whom to pick, but that is a completely different thing.
-
Did you have the one for Burns as well. You accidentally posted Sweat twice?
-
The o-line has been underwhelming, and some of that falls on the coach. There are a lot of teams with missing and injured linemen and they seem to be able to coach around it, and so should we. So Campen needs to step it up. I have no problem with the fact that he was laughing at an angry fan. It has no correlation whatsoever to how he feels about the performance of himself or his group.
-
Agree. It was also his first offseason coming off a strong finish to his first year. I think he got a bit overconfident, he doesn’t strike me as a guy that will not work hard. I think he’ll get after it this offseason.
-
It is hard to know if that clip is truly representative of Frank’s first day as a CEO HC, but if it is, it was very encouraging to see.

Trade Burns for Jaylon Johnson and some picks
Martin replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would take that. -
He’s been close to 40% from 3 the last two years, so he will come around. But a disappointing start no doubt.
