  1. Sorry, I was intending to quote @MHS831 and highlighted where you quoted him.. I'm not really on the Jones train per se, I just think he's who will be left, and that's OK. I am not a fan of burning a bunch of draft picks to trade up.
  2. I'm one of the few also. A couple of months ago, I was on the trade back a few and still get Jones train of thought, but, being the weird year that it is, that won't likely happen. Whoever we pick, it will be at 8.
  3. I honestly think this will end up happening. Houston needs the picks more than it needs a disgruntled QB. They could get 2 and 23 and 34 THIS year. Not saying it works that way, but thats a lot of high end, low pay talent plus they get Zach Wilson. No brainer IMO.
  4. DG did love him some big ole men, didn't he.
  5. I think Parsons will be a damned good football player, and may actually be BPA in this scenario. BUT, Slater, Lance and Farley are all still on the board at 8. I'm picking either of them.
  6. Just out of curiosity, which 2? My rank, I'd say that Khalil was top 3 centers in the league for a long time, Olsen set several TE records playing, TD was the best feel good story in football, AND produced on the field. Luke and Cam were superstars, but had relatively short careers (I know, I know cam is still playing, but as a shell of his former awesomeness). CJ was a stud, but so are a lot of players.
  7. Remember December when WE were debating whether it would be worth taking Wilson at 8??
  8. I think you have to take him. #8 may seem high, but people WILL be reaching for QB's this year, and Jones has done nothing to show me that he can't be a long time starter in the NFL. He won't be the best player on the board in this scenario, but he will be the best QB.
  9. Well it's settled then, draft a LT at 8 and Mond at 39. Chris Simms has spoken.
  10. They can melt down JR's if they need scrap metal.
  11. Don't worry, we signed Stephen Sullivan already. We're good.
  12. I missed that comment, but yeah, it's refreshing.
  13. Hell, we ALL know we need to get a QB. That's like saying the best way to invest is buy low, sell high...NO poo! As long as he isn't trying to dictate WHO we go after, I'm jiggy with him. I have basically taken his comments, so far, as saying he has Rhule's and Fitterer's backs if they want to go balls-to-the-wall after "their guy".
  14. I think we will have to reach if we want a QB at #8, too many teams wanting them this year. As much as I hate the idea of reaching for a pick, it's the reality if we want a QB this season. 2nd round grade or not, I'd be surprised if Wilson, Jones, Lawrence, Lance, and Fields weren't all taken in the top 15. Maybe top 10.
  15. During the 2017 offseason, McCown, his wife Natalie, and their four children moved from Waxhaw, North Carolina to Waxahachie, Texas. - from WIKI. He grew up and played all his college ball in Texas, probably why he ended his career there. Also, says he grew up a Dallas fan, eww.
  16. I don’t think they’ll want CMC. The team has a lot of needs and loading up on draft picks is a much better use than adding a RB, even one as good as CMC. And if paying a RB 16m a year isn’t sound strategy, why expect someone else to do it and bail us out. I'm not sure they would want that contract, BUT, they have a ton more cap space than most and CMC is a proven superstar, which puts asses in the seats and sells jerseys. Especially in a big market like NYC. Again, this is the article, not my opinion. As much as I love CMC, we definitely win with this deal.
  17. According to the article, we trade CMC, plus picks #8, and #39. "If they could somehow convince the Jets to take Christian McCaffrey, the No. 8 pick and a little sweetener for the No. 2 pick, the Panthers would come out as a massive winner. This is not any hatred toward one of our favorite NFL players in CMC, who is an absolute stud on and off the field, but paying a running back $16 million per year isn't a winning strategy."
  18. That would be excellent! Jones in ATL makes perfect sense. They even look alike.
  19. I think TB has the makings to be one of the better backups in the NFL (like he was in 2019). He just doesn't need to start. Are they willing to pay $17M for good backup is the question. If so, I'd trade him just to be rid of the salary and run with PJ as our #2.
  20. Absolutely. Between him and Kerr being better than expected, we had a much better IDL than I expected, especially after losing KK. Grabbing a FA or mid-round pick DT that can pass rush would be idea. Hitting on your late picks is how good teams stay good. We're lucky that Rhule knew what kind of player he could be.
