Let's talk linebackers (Rostered, draft, & FA)
shaqattaq replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
Solid write up Sax. But, if I'm being honest, I'd pie any non-QB thread at this point. -
"Chris Clark Things didn't get much better in 2018. Clark had a cheap contract compared to Kalil but he also struggled. Clark started 13 forgettable games in 2018 then left for Houston" Very true statement. I had completely forgotten about Clark.

If all 6 of those players are gone, I'd personally put Slater, Surtain and Farley ahead of Pitts. Although a rock star TE would fill a big need.

Kiper Mock 2.0: Mac Jones to Panthers at #8.
shaqattaq replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
I just haven't seen in any Mock drafts it before yesterday. Lance had pretty much been the consensus #4 QB, right or wrong. -
A comprehensive breakdown of the top QBs in the draft.

Cool name, cannon of an arm. What round do you think he falls to? -
Illegal (by today's standards...perfectly acceptable at the time) or not, it was bad ass. I might make it my screensaver.

Kiper Mock 2.0: Mac Jones to Panthers at #8.
shaqattaq replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
In this scenario, we pick him over Lance. That's the 2nd mock in 2 days that have us doing that. -
Frank Okam promoted to DL Coach, assistant Pot Roast added

That looks like a grown man right there. -
Could we be sleeping on Mac Jones? Charlie Weiss says YES.
shaqattaq replied to SCO96's topic in Carolina Panthers
That is my take on Jones as well. Good value at our second pick, especially if we got a LT at #8 OK, since this is all just speculation...We go LT at 8, then trade #39 and 2022 2nd round pick to Miami to pick Jones at 18. IF he makes it past SF and NE. -
3 game winning streak early in the season felt awesome. Pitching a shutout to the Lions with our young, patchwork D felt pretty good. Barely beating a terrible team in week 16 when your already out of the playoffs... not so much. Like you, anytime we play I cheer to win. But the reality of what that meaningless win cost us is hard to ignore. EDIT: Fug you Ron!

Texas hold 'em, lol. honestly, that's what my brain read, I'm sorry. -
Eagles and Colts reach deal on Wentz trade

I hope so. -
Recent reports make it look like Tepper was the guy who wanted (injured) Cam gone.

Greg and Smitty laying solid blocks, and Cam doing what Cam does (did?)! We needed a little off season happiness, and I happened to stumble across this clip. I defy you not to grin.

That's the issue with buying a team to go "all in" for the SB. I expect the Bucs to have similar issues, but not as immediately since Brady sold his soul to the devil in 2001 to stop the aging process.

The question of Curtis. Tim Weaver wants to keep him.
shaqattaq replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
OK, let me throw in my 2 cents. I like Samuel a lot, but still think Moore is better. If it came down to Samuel versus Anderson, I'd go with Samuel, but Anderson's contract makes that not an option. Hopefully we can figure out a way to hold onto Samuel without sacrificing o line. How it will likely go down: https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/gm-report/re-sign-or-wave-goodbye-wr-curtis-samuel -
La Canfora on Tepper's desire for Watson/franchise QB
shaqattaq replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree 100% with this statement, BUT, giving away our 2022 and 2023 first rounds picks as well makes it a lot harder to replace anyone. This still sounds too expensive for me. -
I remember being interested in Njoku in the draft a few years back, but haven't followed him. His stats aren't exactly earth shattering, and, IIRC, he was never much of a blocker. A change of scenery may help him out, but it's unlikely that he's the answer at TE. He is young, and should be cheap, so why the heck not? He's likely better than anyone we currently have.

Best scene in the movie. One of the best scenes in ANY sports movie. He's the anti-Marty.

Deliverance! (and Arthur Smith)

That arrow going through him was the 2nd worse poking in that movie. -
I don't blame anyone for getting their due. It's a short-lived career, and he's given us 4 good years for $4M. It's his turn to get paid.
