You're starved for your boy T-Mac to catch 50 yard bombs. That's what this is really about.

No coach was ever fired for "winning ugly." But trying to be flashy or taking unnecessary risks in a game that was close down to the wire? What if this lead to losing the game? Not even because of mistakes or bad passes etc., but because of mismanaging the clock and field position because of the passing plays that were called in order to "develop the deep passing game"? Do you think Tepper would have given Canales a slap on the back and said "Hey, at least we should be better down the road, maybe. Good job, coach."? This is a team and fanbase starved for wins. Canales is delivering that. Nobody expects this team to win the Superbowl or even make the playoffs, he simply wants to instill confidence and a winning mentality into a group of men that need it. Once they learn how to win and start believing they can win and they ACTUALLY start winning, we can talk about other details. Winning changes a culture. The Panthers NEED a culture change. It doesn't matter right now how they get there.

That's quite literally his only job. Every year has new goals, new identities, etc. But the one constant is to win at all costs. He isn't guaranteed to be here next year UNLESS he wins. Why would he give a poo to mold a bunch of players someone else might be coaching?

This tracks. The secondary struggled yesterday. And maybe they struggled in coverage, but the linebackers made some plays.

I don't get that feeling. 2 min warning and 3 timeouts. No need to rush -

Bullshit calls on our CBs and not having linebackers that can cover over the middle is killing us -

Never underestimate the player that wants to stick it to his previous team. I think Dowdle has a big game again tomorrow. -
It's the same look that Rhule and Reich had before they were fired. Tepper runs these guys into the ground before cutting them loose. He may be shitting the bed as a head coach, but I worry about the guy as a human being. He's an addict in recovery that seemingly found peace before working for this controlling asshole of an owner.

Yep that's what's going to do it. The Cleveland Browns' third string quarterback is the answer

I don't understand why we didn't sign him to our active roster. Tons of potential and looked decent in preseason. Could have been a good long term backup for us

It's mildly surprising to see David Moore play 56/58 snaps on offense while Tremayne and Renfrow played 16 or 17 snaps each. Tells you a bit about the current hierarchy at WR.

We used to go to a video store named Endless Entertainment when I was a kid. Kind of a knock-off Blockbuster chain. Good times.

Did you guys even pay attention to how Atlanta was defending the offense? Atlanta didn't lose today because of their defense. They played a lot of zone looks and kept the play in front of them because they knew that no one could beat them deep except tmac, and they pretty much had a corner pressing him and a safety over the top the entire game. As bad as Xavier has been this year, he changes how defenses play us. They knew all we had behind TMac was a bunch of short and intermediate receivers at best. Bryce took what the defense gave him, and yes there were some plays left on the field. Some of them were misfires by Bryce and some of them were dropped by receivers, and some were 3rd and long situations because of penalties by the offensive line. The offense as a whole is still trying to find its identity. I think you have to look at the full picture here people. And when you don't have the weapons to manipulate the defense, you take what you can. We missed Thielen, Coker, and yes, even XL today.

I think they are worried if Christensen goes down playing guard, we have zero tackle depth. -
One guy that looks the part is Fernando Mendoza. Having a great year and is currently dismantling #9 Illinois

I'd rather poach Jake Browning.

That's part of being patient too. Not rushing players into roles they aren't ready for. Make them earn it. If you convince yourself that "so and so" needs to start because they were a first round pick, even though they have done nothing to earn it, you have set up both team and player for failure. You can convince yourself all day long that "there is no substitute for game experience" but if the guy can't do his job in practice, he can't do it in a game. Not consistently, anyway. Teams like the Steelers, the Ravens and the Packers ROUTINELY bench rookies to start off with and no one bats an eyelash. Even if the team is losing. Because that's what they do. They have set the precedent. The players have to show they are ready. Then they get their chance.

I was giving examples of current, successful franchises. Not entire histories. Every team in the NFL has sucked at one point or another. The teams that are successful right now, and have been for several years, have shown patience in their process.
-
The successful teams in the NFL right now have one thing in common: Patience. Not just with their QB, but with every facet of the program. There are going to be successes and failures, but no one panics and makes reactive decisions. Look at the Eagles, the Bills, the Ravens, the Packers, and hell, even the (newly successful) Lions. All of them showed patience with their QB's growth, let their coaches do their jobs, have drafted well, developed their own players, and plugged holes in their roster and organization with players and situations that made sense. That's what we need. And if that isn't what we have now, we need to make moves to get it there. If that means they need to blow it up to start over, then blow it up and start it over the right way. If that means to change their approach from top to bottom, change it now. But the blueprint of success is out there in the league, teams just think they know better, or they don't have the discipline to follow through.

Aguilar? I dunno about that. Id take Sawyer Robertson or John Mateer honestly.
