  1. You might be thinking of Wahle and Hartwig. If I recall correctly, Wahle wasn't terrible, he just wasn't all that great either. Captain Mohawk on the other hand was bad enough that they went for a rookie Ryan Kalil over him even though Kalil admits that he was hopelessly lost at the time.
  2. Because recruiting is a huge pain in the ass...
  3. The Seahawks best drafts happened when Scot McCloughan was part of their front office. Unfortunately, after moving on to become the GM in DC, McCloughan basically drank himself out of a job. Right now he's working as an occasional draft consultant. I would favor making McCloughan part of our front office, but you'd have to have some pretty strong assurances that he wouldn't fall off the wagon again.
  4. The one sliver of hope I have right now is that Oklahoma hasn't made anything official. That said, all indications are that Rhule to Oklahoma isn't happening.
  5. Projected by the mocks I've seen to go higher than where we pick...
  6. Tepper needs to either put a coaching search in the hands of a consultant (someone like Kevin Colbert if he were to come available) or just trust Fitterer and Morgan to hire who they want (which is be fine with). Unfortunately, while he's proven time and again that he doesn't know what he's doing, he still seems to think he does. That's a really bad situation.
  7. I don't think that's happening this year. Only hope we probably half of getting out from under his thumb this year is if Tepper fires him, and nobody seems to think the odds on that are very good.
  8. Daley... Honestly looks more like he's doing a dance move than a kick slide...
  9. I don't buy for a second that David Tepper has the first clue how to do that. What he really needs to do is leave that job in the hands of somebody who does.
  10. I feel like Rhule is gonna stick around just long enough to keep us from having a shot at a really good replacement, then take off
  11. Notre Dame is officially off the table. (not sure they were ever really on, but hey...)
  12. Some of Belichick's drafts stink almost as bad as Marty's.
  13. That description probably applies just as much to David Tepper as it does to Matt Rhule. A lot of those have Matt Rhule's fingerprints on them. Arguably, most of them in one form or another... The most obvious ones? Anderson getting extended before Moore screams Rhule. Likewise, we signed the OL guys we did because they were the kind of blocker Rhule wanted (versatility over ability). It's really difficult to place major blame on a GM who's not actually in charge (something which again is the owner's fault).
  14. If they follow Rivera's previous pattern, they'll rise for a few years, get figured out, plateau and eventually slide back to mediocre.
  15. I can't really disagree with most of that. I would say that while their quarterback situation might be better than ours, it's really not so great either.
  16. I feel like part of the problem is a lot of us had the impression that Rhule was an offensive minded coach. That hasn't really panned out. He's proven to essentially be the third part of a trilogy where parts one and two were Fox and Rivera.
  17. If you're old enough to remember Dan Reeves and Tommy Maddox, Payton seems to have pretty much the same thing going with Taysom Hill.
  18. Translation: Guys who are mediocre at everything but great at nothing. Gimme five guys who can each play one position well and I won't give a sh-t whether they can play somewhere else.
  19. Coaching is a huge advantage for the Saints.
  20. I doubt it was interested in anything pertaining to experience or future seasons. He needs to win now. Basically, we're back where we were under Rivera.
  21. Saw that last night...it was cool.
  22. Rhule doesn't seem to like the idea of taking rookie quarterbacks. Granted, might be different with Pickett since he has a prior connection to him.
  23. Panthers Confidential validated that we had Sewell at the top of our list and Slater as a trade down option.
  24. Look him up. You'll find a lot of good material. His dad was a high level offensive guy who coached in the NFL for 42 years. He basically grew up in the league.
