  1. In his post practice presser, Coach Matt Rhule said the team views rookie tackle Brady Christensen's best fit as being at right tackle. He added that Christensen can also slide inside to guard, but he prefers him at the tackle spot. Obviously, the team already has a starter in that role. However, Rhule also referred to Taylor Moton as "a guy who can flip-flop" between the tackle spots. Mentioned elsewhere that this makes me think they're gaining more confidence in his ability to play on the left. Rhule also reiterated today what he had previously said regarding Cam Erving, that he's primarily slotted as a left tackle right now. Erving hasn't been able to practice there due to an injury though. Hence, why other guys are getting looks. One of those guys is Dennis Daley. Previous expectation was that he'd be looked at primarily at guard this year, but it's starting to sound less and less like that's the case. Definitely sounds like the lineup on the OL is getting some different looks. Might not be so easy to predict what it's ultimately going to look like come week one.
  2. Asked about Christensen, Rhule says the team sees him as a right tackle at the moment. Also mentioned Taylor Moton as "a guy who can flip flop", which makes me think they're gaining more confidence in his ability to play on the left.
  3. Certainly hope so. As mentioned above, it's been a while since we've seen much in the way of "Hail Mary" type touchdowns.
  4. Hail Mary touchdowns weren't exactly a thing with us last year.
  5. Looks like Day Two is getting set to go...
  6. This early in the process, and with the OL unable to truly block, if the defense wasn't ahead I'd be pretty concerned.
  7. ...has never said anything negative about Mixon. Mixon is 62. His wanting to retire isn't exactly a stretch.
  8. See, there's this team up in Massachusetts...
  9. Regardless of whether he ultimately wins the left tackle job or not, that's definitely the kind of attitude you want him to have.
  10. Top three or four right now are probably McCaffrey, Hubbard, Bonnafon, Cannon / Smith (Brown and Clark are likely practice squad candidates or just camp fodder) Far as I know, Cannon's the only one in the group who does returns. Bonnafon's durability is a bit of a question.
  11. Tepper seems to like going young when he's hiring somebody new, and he doesn't really have any nostalgia with regard to Rosinski so I don't think he'll go that route. Jim Szoke has been doing the preseason play by play for the Panthers since their inception. I don't remember if he was given an audition for the job when they hired Mixon, but he really should be now. It wouldn't surprise me to see Taylor Zarzour or someone like him get the job though. Not that Jim Szoke is all that old, but I'm pretty sure Zarzour is younger (and probably better known outside the Carolinas).
  12. Pretty sure the Panthers would happily accept that offer
  13. Cam Erving: "Left tackle is where they've told me I'm gonna play".
