Because there are rumors they might not. It's Draft Day, so bullsh-t is everywhere, but sometimes rumors turn out to be true.
-
Might help grease the wheels a lot if their new head coach is an old colleague/friend. (which...he is) They might wanna take a particular player with them, and be willing to negotiate around it.

A new backup quarterback. From Albert Breer... One veteran quarterback who could be moved this weekend: Denver third-year man Drew Lock. If the Broncos land Justin Fields or Trey Lance (which I think is a possibility), there’s a strong perception that Lock will be on the block starting Friday. One potential destination I’ve heard for Lock is Minnesota, a team that could use an affordable backup with upside. Carolina was one team I heard could be in the mix, but that’d be if they don’t draft one Thursday night (and I think they could). SI.com: Last minute Draft day news and rumors End result would be us essentially swapping backups...

I mean I'd ultimately get on board, but there might be a lot of swearing before it happens
-
Sewell and Jones both fall to us, we take Jones?

Never heard of it honestly, but it sounds hilarious -
You have the Lions handing a division rival the chance to draft a quarterback?
-
By trading with an old friend who's now the head coach of a team with, say, the #7 pick perhaps.
-
Demovsky is a very reliable source.
-
-
Don't forget they can also trade players, like a good receiver for example.
-
Remember who Dan Campbell used to work for? That could turn out to be a factor. (connections frequently do)
-
This could get wild.
-
Well, isn't this interesting...
-
To be fair, that arguably has as much or more to do with the present day Packers as it does present day Rodgers. Specifically, the present day Packers who used their first round pick on Jordan Love.
-
If I recall correctly, you said yesterday you didn't think that "some" necessarily included Fitterer and/or Rhule.
-
As long as it's somebody other than Sewell I'm fine with it, especially if it helps him fall to us. If they took Sewell though...
-
Not directly draft related, but here's a name you hadn't heard in a while.
-
I definitely don't want Jones, but if that's who we wind up with, I'll do the best I can to jump on board.
-
The pictured ones are named Jasmine (Jazz for short) and Pendleton. They're mates. Seven more quakers besides them - all rescues - and six parakeets. My home is not a quiet place
-
One of mine? That'd piss me off cuz they don't tell me jack
-
Okay, that would piss me off
-
If Sewell is still on the board, I'm absolutely in favor of this.

Didn't think so, but now Florio's picked up on it
