Pretty much. I saw one place that said he claimed to be neighbors with Bob McNair but I don't know that it was actually verified. He's also said that he's never been much of a Texans fan, which is kind of funny given that he bought billboards encouraging the Texans to draft Johnny Manziel. I suppose you could attribute that to him being a Manziel fan but still... Bottom Line: Yhis is a really sad and extremely complicated situation that's probably going to take a long time to resolve one way or the other. Until it does though, I think you'd have to say the wisest course for the Panthers is to steer clear of it.

Been there. And for the record, I much prefer football conversations. But like I said earlier, this isn't really a football story anymore. The sad reality is as long as people are people, stuff like this is going to happen. Bad people who have power will misuse it. Innocent people who have wealth will be targeted by opportunists. And all the rest of us will just sit back with no easy way to tell what the real truth is. Sucks, but what can you do?

Never said I could, but you're acting like Watson's statements can't be questioned. I assure you, they can. And just to be clear, you're repeatedly pounding on this $100,000 figure when that amount was never quoted. Watson only said "six figures" and that was at the time when there was only one lawsuit. As to my position on this, it's the same it's always been. I have no idea whether he's guilty or not. I do know that having nine accusers (and potentially more) puts him in a pretty bad spot. This is going to play out in the court, as it should. The final result? Who knows. Frankly, this story's been so crazy so far that I wouldn't even try to predict it right now.

Well, there's word now that the NFL is officially investigating the claims. So yeah, I'd say it's possible.

I'm not exactly a big Mitch Trubisky fan, but for one year, 2.5 million? I wouldn't be screaming.
-
Not really, given this story would have the potential to put Watson out of football entirely. It could also put Watson on the Commissioner's Exempt List, which would mean the Texans would still have to pay him his full salary while he sat at home. If the Texans had tried to blackmail him with this behind the scenes or if they'd held on to it until he was traded away for a huge compensation package, one of those angles might make sense. The Texans putting this out there while they're still trying to bring him back or get compensation via trade makes absolutely no sense at all.

Did I say "Bob Kraft was guilty of human trafficking" or did I say there was a human trafficking angle to that story? (might want to look back at the post before you answer)
-
I think he's better than Bridgewater. That doesn't mean he's anything special though.
-
Yes I can. If you want more information, look it up. There were plenty of stories written.

I think this thread was created specifically for the tampering period. Either way though, a general thread for NFL transactions is a good idea. Individual threads for Panther transactions are understandable.
-
This is kind of like the drug argument though. "Should" doesn't make a difference. Only whether or not something is legal right now does. Also have to remember with Kraft there was the human trafficking angle. It's my opinion, but none of our opinions makes much difference.
-
So far, yeah. Still waiting for the details on the other six cases.
-
That case also went wrong because it was a police investigation and the officers in charge botched it. Kraft should probably be in jail. So should Roethlisberger. But what can you do?
-
Yep. Bad news for the Fuller fans on here.

Dude, lemme just tell ya that a guy telling women how they ought to handle a type of victimization that extremely few of us ever have to experience is venturing into some dangerous territory. I understand. Men want justice. The first time somebody told me she'd been through something like this, I immediately wanted to go find the guy and mess him up. Unfortunately, real life is way more complicated than revenge flicks or Law and Order SVU episodes. It's just not that simple. Wish it were.

I think anyone who actually knows someone who's been through something like this isn't at all surprised.
-
The time frame is all over the past year. And yes, women frequently wait to do things like this - and in some cases never do them at all - especially when the accused is rich, famous or powerful. Mentioned previously I've known more than a few women who have been victims of really bad things. Most of them never did much of anything about it because it can come back to hurt them all over again.

Don't know about Watson, but I do know good young athletes have a habit of thinking they're invincible, even at just the high school and college level. On top of that, heaven knows the elite ones are often given everything they desire and protected from there being any consequences to their actions. Someone like that goes pro, gets their freedom and a few million dollars thrown into their bank account, and well...

A huge desire to field an all injured reserve team?
-
The Watson cloud just got three more accusers.

I mean sh-t, if these are true he's gotta be doing this like once a month.
