For the record, I was pretty high on Fontenot as a GM prospect for us. That he's now with the Falcons scares me a little.

Other favorite draft moments: The Vikings not getting their pick made in time... Watching the souls of Jets fans leave their bodies as they picked Kyle Brady over Warren Sapp... Drew Pearson massively trolling the Philadelphia crowd with an extended monologue about the Cowboys' greatness...
-
Yeah. I remember that. He did get the last laugh there.
-
Give him credit: Kiper has a crazy memory for stats and measurables and stuff like that. But he's not an evaluator, never has been.
-
Apparently the Chargers social media team had a boo boo...
-
First draft I ever watched, this happened For the next several years, when my friends and I got together to watch the draft, whenever they first introduced Kiper we'd all repeat that line in unison.
-
It's not the same "we" as last year.

This one?

Breer on the Mac Jones discussion...

And a great name for a soap opera character...

Also could mean they're ready to take a new quarterback and blow the whole thing up. Or that they want people to think that
-
I wonder if this announcement will be just as effective as the last few years' have been.

If they really are looking at moving on from Julio Jones, I wonder what that says about the status of Matt Ryan.

General rumors and speculation from draft week not necessarily related to the Panthers... Starting with...
-
And if he turns out great, keeping him next year could cost a lot more than 18 million. Only a moron would trade anything significant for a one year rental.
-
Sewell is my favorite, but he isn't the only first round lineman.
-
There was discussion a while back that the team might restructure his contract so that instead of him having a 4 million hit this year and an 18 million hit next year, they'd just spread it evenly over the two years (about 11.5 million each). It wouldn't surprise me if that's the "strong plan".
-
That's not the plan. That was dumbass speculation from Florio (which even he admitted). It's not gonna happen. The team is not that stupid.
-
Giving up what we did for a one year contract would be a dumbass move.
-
Josh Norris had us trading the number eight pick to the chargers so that they could take Penei Sewell. Then we take Rashawn Slater at thirteen. Not really a fan of that. I'd rather just take Sewell.
