  1. Family reported and missing while he was checked into a hotel? Yeah, this story has "bad things" written all over it. Shame. I remember him as a player. He was good.
  2. Makes sense. I've seen a loooot of versions of that.
  3. And given their records of the last five years (some of them even longer than that) they actually have something to show for it. Heck, even the Falcons have been to a Super Bowl since we were last there. And the Eagles won theirs. Plus it's not like our cap space is phenomenal. We've got a lot of holes in our roster and don't even have enough cap space to keep both of our best players. To top it all off, while I'm extremely happy that Ron and Marty are gone, we still don't really know how good our current braintrust is...especially our GM. There's certainly reason to be hopeful for the future, but the suggestion that anyone (especially among the teams mentioned) is looking at the post 2015 Panthers and thinking "man, I wish we ran things like they did" is kinda silly.
  4. Ron really believed in that. Clark's footwork was some of the worst I've ever seen. He looked like he was just constantly trying not to trip over his own feet and fall down.
  5. Technically we're not committed to it yet. We have until March 9th. I'm actually pretty sure nobody's designated a Franchise Tag yet. If they did, I missed it. As far as what it means, not sure what it says about Samuel, but it probably does indicate that our offers and Moton's wishes aren't very close to each other.
  6. I'm for it, but I seem to be in the minority on that. I'd argue it might make more sense this offseason than it ever has.
  7. You have to look back at what he used to be. Then remember that both of the teams who are looking at him have coaches who were in Philly when he was good and likely believe they can make him that way again.
  8. I'm open to any perspective or insight anyone can offer. The Indy media wasn't exactly complimentary of Chris's tenure as GM.
  9. If you have contract terms he agrees with, sure. If you don't, not so easy.
  10. There we go. Stanley as a template? He's a left tackle
  11. Per Jason LaCanfora, or at least according to an article that says LaCanfora said so (it's not on his Twitter). This isn't exactly the first time we've heard that though so it's not hard to believe. Teams are able to apply the Franchise Tag anytime between now and March 9th
  12. Luck protects fools and little children, I think the saying goes. (apparently null and void if you choose to be represented by a black cat, though)
  13. I know the general belief is that the Raiders have decided firmly against trading Derek Carr. Shame. That's a trade I could have gotten on board with.
  14. And his family. I remember him saying that he was so completely obsessive as a football coach that pretty much everything took second place. At least at the time, he didn't want to be that way again. Changed his mind later of course, but that wound up being underwhelming.
  15. They might have to do it sooner rather than later. There's a lot of chatter about the Patriots trading for Marcus Mariota.
  16. Don't know. Might get a discount rate (relatively speaking, probably still a high price though). Ultimately, I still don't think he gets traded at all.
  17. I've long thought the 49ers might be a dark horse for Deshaun Watson given that there's a long-standing relationship between Adam Peters and Nick Caserio.
  18. I'm not a fan either, but it's a real possibility.
  19. If @LinvilleGorge shows up to brag, I'm gonna quote one of his posts about Justin Herbert
  20. I'm not that big a fan. Richardson's original plan was to go after Joe Gibbs. He was gonna offer Gibbs the same kind of role Coughlin had with the Jags. I'll forever wonder what the Panthers history would have been like if Gibbs had said yes. As to Polian, his first target for a head coach was Rich Kotite. Thankful that didn't work out.
  21. For the record, Chris Polian does have some experience as a Director of Pro Personnel. He served as one from 2013 to 2020. In Jacksonville... ...till they fired him.
  22. I normally try to accept all possibilities, but if that team is anything but a grade A sh-t show I'm seriously gonna wonder how. I suppose they could consult with the Dark Prince but I think he's busy trying to help Belichick with his rebuild right now.
  23. Not to worry. They also have a GM in the middle of everything who can help sort it all out. (specifically, the GM who built the Lions team that went 0-16)
