  1. Full disclosure: I'm a little biased on this front. I know it was important enough for the Patriots that one year after Dante Scarnecchia retired the first time, they we're so dissatisfied with their line that they lured him back. Granted, there are guys you probably can't fix (Little, probably) but on the flipside, you see guys like Daryl Williams and Mike Remmers move on from here to look better in their new destinations. So yeah, I think it's important. And I also think this is a good hire.
  2. I have a feeling they would.
  3. Yeah, but even that coach did pretty well when he was only a position coach. It was when he became a coordinator that things went sideways.
  4. Person confirms... Getzenberg too...
  5. He definitely looks like an O-Line coach...
  6. Good choice. He's the son of the guy that was head coach of the Dolphins for a bit.
  7. At the start of the process. Yeah, we have a cap guy, but Tepper apparently thought that having an analytics guy in the GM chair would be better because we already had somebody who could do talent evaluation in Matt Rhule. Rhule felt differently. And thankfully, he won that debate.
  8. Sorry. The "neck injury vs concussion" theory. Choked out? Hell no.
  9. Same. And I do trust that Reid will be careful about that.
  10. I think it's plausible at least. The scary, tinfoil hat version of the story would be that he has a concussion but they're saying he doesn't so that he can play. I don't really think Andy Reid is that kind of person though.
  11. I do figure the team in the league are going to be really careful about what they report, and they probably should. I'll confess head and neck injuries scare me.
  12. We were hearing reports even before the season that Marty believed we could win now as opposed to embracing the rebuild.
  13. I've seen that in a couple of different places including some Kansas City news sources. I haven't seen anything official yet though, or any reports from major sources like Rapoport, Schefter or Breer.
  14. Thought I saw that it wouldn't be but I'm not dead certain.
  15. When he says "I think that a deal could be done' at the end, I believe he just means in general, not necessarily to us. I put this in the category of "anything's possible", but not likely.
  16. Saw it reported that he has a neck injury. Maybe he shouldn't. Albert Breer did say that the Chiefs have a lot of trust in Chad Henne.
  17. I kind of do too, but the phrase "better them than us" helps make those feelings go away.
  18. 49ers are an option too. I believe I saw that he's a fan of Kyle Shanahan's system (but what quarterback wouldn't be?) There's also the factor that Adam Peters and Nick Caserio were colleagues for five or six years in New England. That could help grease the skids for an acceptable trade arrangement.
  19. Yahoo points out that Marty started off covering the team for a Washington newspaper. It's kinda like if Joe Person or Pat Yasinskas was named GM of the Panthers.
  20. Gotta say, the feeling of relief I had when they fired Marty was great. It intensified when they hired someone I felt was a good choice in Scott Fitterer. Marty made cheering for the Panthers difficult because it always felt like a lost cause. It was like tuning into a Syfy original movie with the hope that maybe this time the acting and the special effects were really going to be good. You could make an effort to be as optimistic as possible but deep down you knew that in the end, you were gonna be disappointed. I understand how you feel, Washington fans. But no offense, better you than us.
