  1. I know everybody hates talking about waiting after Matt Rhule's 7 year plan bullsh-t , but three year plans are pretty normal for a new staff, with step one of that process being the acquisition of the quarterback you want to build around. Worked pretty well for Cincinnati...
  2. First off, I point out that unrealistic expectations aren't the team's fault. The other side of that though is that with an entirely new staff, you had to retool the roster in order to suit the scheme changes. That's one reason why prior draftees might not stick around, basically the things they would drafted to do are things were not doing anymore. That doesn't mean the roster is sh-t, but it does mean it might have taken a (necessary) step back.
  3. That's not just Newton. A lot of big quarterbacks aren't afraid of contact. But it's also valid their careers might last a little longer if they were just a little afraid.
  4. With Newton he could rationalize it because Cam was big and mobile. I'm not sure how he rationalizes it now, or if he even still does.
  5. Which is something about 99% of NFL rookie quarterback do. But again, if that's a concern, I don't have a problem with limiting what he does.
  6. And I'm happy for him on that front. With that said though, you're familiar with his current head coach and the effect his management has had on previous quarterbacks who were much larger than Howell. I'd absolutely b-tch about it.
  7. Again, two games...but that brings up a point. Some have suggested that the staff might have some training wheels on Young. Because of this, they've complained that he needs to be free to throw it around as much as he wants, even if it means throwing interceptions. I disagree. If there's one thing I've seen in a load of quarterbacks, it's that bad habits which get built early on don't go away. They especially have a very unfortunate tendency to show up in later games when said quarterback is under duress. So if they think limiting him or holding him back can serve as a way to keep from those bad habits ever showing up in the first place, I'm all for it.
  8. Think that'll still be true if he gets injured?
  9. How much did we know after Kyle Allen's first two starts?
  10. That can't be true. I had been assured that Young was the worst looking rookie quarterback in history
  11. What all did we know two games into Sam Darnold's 2021 season?
  12. We don't know sh-t two games into any seasons, much less one where we've got an entirely new staff and new quarterback.
  13. That's about all that's officially known right now, but the behind the scenes talk from some of their reporters makes it sound like it's about to get really weird. No idea what to make of this yet.
  14. The Bears have...other issues right now
  15. I remember someone else saying they'd gone back to The Shire.
  16. Meanwhile, back in Chicago... Happy birthday, dude
  17. I wouldn't. I've watched games on TV and watched them live. And from that experience, I can tell you for example that you don't get anywhere near as much sense of just how fast a player really is unless you see them live. As far as watching a pass, seeing it on TV you're really watching the camera move. In person, you're only watching the ball.
  18. Don't know, but the reporters covering the Bears make the scene around Halas Hall sound like a closing credit sequence from The Benny Hill Show
  19. The latest chapter is only two games in. We don't know sh-t yet.
  20. Was gonna say This one's legit, though...
