  1. Newton's a little late to the party here but he reiterates what was said earlier...
  2. I get the logic. My preference is still Stroud but if we end up drafting Young you won't hear me screaming.
  3. When it comes to quarterbacking skills, Young would be an absolute dream pick for me. But you have to get past that one big question...
  4. It's a valid argument. Other things being equal, I'll take a fast processor over a more mobile QB ten times out of ten.
  5. Joe Person had the Panthers taking CJ Stroud in The Athletic's beat writer mock draft (link) His reasoning... Frank Reich has a type when it comes to quarterbacks, all of whom have been 6-foot-2 or taller (the majority have been 6-4 and up). Reich also values accuracy. That combination points to the 6-3, 214-pound Stroud, who has impressed with his ball placement and throwing mechanics. The one knock on Stroud was his unwillingness to make plays with his feet. Then he showed off his athleticism in the College Football Playoff semifinal against a Georgia defense teeming with NFL prospects, and everyone took notice.
  6. More than one source has said that Jim Caldwell is going to have a big voice in these decisions.
  7. Yeah, not so sure of that. Don't really know how well he'd fit in with who we have because he's kind of an a--hole. Bottom line though: We're not trading for Rodgers, we're not trading for Jackson and we're not bringing Newton back. We're gonna draft a guy who'll have the staff to teach him and Andy Dalton as a mentor. And that's the right call...
  8. The moments when he'd go apesh-t right before the snap because he saw something...
  9. That'd be screwing us more than it would screwing the Jets.
  10. What always made me laugh was how absolutely baffled offensive opponents were. Anytime they were asked about him, they always mentioned wondering how the hell he knew what was coming
  11. Last info I've seen. Will wait to see if the Panthers post video of it later.
  12. I wouldn't wear it but ya know, to each his own...
  13. Fun to watch for the memories Also sad because it ended too soon
  14. I haven't seen anything defining which players can wear it. Looks like a skill player sort of number to me but who knows?
  15. Don't know, but I've seen some mocks where he did.
  16. John Ellis was wondering if any Panther players might try this.
  17. A lot of people think mobility is the most important tool when it comes to avoiding sacks. It isn't. Processing speed is. Heck, back when he played, Michael Vick was frequently high on the list of who took the most sacks. Dan Marino was harder to sack because by the time you could count to two and a half, the football was already gone. The absolute best trait you can have to avoid getting hit Is the ability to get the football out of your hands too quickly for anyone to get to you. The ability to run and scramble is secondary.
  18. Side Note: A while back you kept insisting that I needed to make a decision on who I wanted at quarterback. Happy now? Seriously though, prior drafts haven't really had anybody that I felt that good about. While I'll grant this year's top two guys aren't necessarily generational players, I do feel good about them.
