He started off with Luck already there, added Brissett. Tried to rebuild Wentz but it didn't work. The Colts didn't use a top draft pick on one while he was coach. Word was Reich wanted to but the team stuck with veterans.

Story is that Ryan wasn't Reich's choice, but benching him for Sam Ehlinger turned out to be a dumb idea.

I don't know how strongly Reich feels about Carr. Rapoport has stated that the Panthers have interest though.

Can't verify "three times" but both CBS Sports and the Indy Star confirmed the Colts tried to trade for Carr before ending up with Matt Ryan.

Yeah, that's a silly take. Irsay was interfering in the coaching decisions (the benching of Ryan was his order). And per his own statements, a big reason he fired Reich was so he could install Jeff Saturday. Irsay genuinely believed that would be a genius move on his part. Pretty much everyone who's analyzed the decision since has branded Irsay a moron while loads are praising the hire of Reich by Carolina.

Are we sure those plans were made before the bulk of the staff was assembled, though?

I wouldn't bet on having a huge amount of company either.

Definitely. As far as Carr, my attitude is the same as with the draft. We have a coaching staff and leadership that I trust, so I'll sign on to what they decide.

It's deserved. Brady wasn't ready for an OC job, and he was hired by a head coach who wasn't qualified. Granted, Brady might still have an NFL future if he works his way up. Rhule on the other hand will likely never have another NFL job.

Panthers head coach Frank Reich received 5.5 votes to edge out DeMeco Ryans (3.5 votes) of the Texans. (One executive split his vote between the two.) Kaye hinted that it could be Jeff Nixon. That would make sense. Nixon did a good job with the running backs and he's coached pretty much every skill position on an offense. He was also one of the more NFL experienced coaches on Rhule's staff. Plus he's reported to be very well-liked and respected in the building. To top it all off, it'd be kinda funny to see Reich succeed with one of Rhule's guys when Rhule couldn't

They literally couldn't afford to fire McDaniels. And again, the Raiders are one of the dumbest teams in the league. Trusting their judgment reinforces that you don't know much. To be clear, it's all right to not know much about football...until you start acting like you know more than everybody else. That's when you come up looking really stupid.
