That's...cold

Watson isn't someone I'd consider Shakespearean. He'd fit better into something by DH Lawrence or Emmanuelle Arsan.

If you're a good enough player, the league will excuse almost anything

Weather looks concerning for home opener.

Bad weather tends to favor physical teams. -
Starting OL might be above average by midseason or so. Definitely don't expect them to start out that way.

This is one of those threads where you get to see who's taking things (or themselves) a tad too seriously

Hamlet had good lateral movement but lousy field vision. King Lear was a half decent motivator but not much of a strategist. Romeo had some pretty concerning health issues after that one incident. Macbeth was smart but had character concerns, especially in his family.

Which matchup are you most looking forward to this Sunday
Mr. Scot replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Our game? Pretty much all of it... When I answered the thread title in my head though, the answer was Bills-Rams on Thursday. I'm definitely not looking forward to how our game will compare to that one -
But...he doesn't have what it takes to play in the NFL

Well, sort of Guess that gives Steve Smith an opening to bring up the topic of retiring numbers again

Panthers best draft vs. worst draft?

I've never believed that Richardson waiting until after all the offseason work was already done to pull the trigger was an accident. -
Understood. I have mostly positive feelings about Fitterer as well but I get that there are people who lean the other way.

Morgan? This year's free agency looks better than last year's. It'd be reasonable to think he could be part of the why.

Week 1 General Discussions - Talk to me about the Browns

Welcome aboard. Since you mentioned being a father as related to your team change, I'm guessing I have some idea what those "obvious reasons" might pertain to -

From what we've been told, Joe Brady didn't trust anybody to do it. -
Hell, I said before the season started that I would accept a worse record as long as it looked like we were improving (and got ripped for it) Instead, we ended up with the same record and a team that looked worse.

I get keeping McCall, but at the same time I've seen plenty of guys like McCall look great in the preseason then disappear when the games that counted got started. Just have to hope he's not one of those guys...

Pretty accurate... I still see people arguing that Rhule deserves the benefit of a doubt. I have yet to see a good reason why he's earned that.

I'm shocked when people think stats are the best way to measure interior defensive linemen, but hey... Nixon is a guy I remember being decent last year, and again I'm not alone in that. Both Roaring Riot's guy Josh Klein and our buddy John Ellis (you know, the one who actually does film studies rather than just looking at stats) were surprised at Nixon being cut over others. Heck, Ellis named him as someone he thought might contend for starting reps this year. Mind you, I've already had one guy telling me he has more credibility than Ellis on this sort of thing. Should I expect that from you as well?
