  1. Long as he...nah, I'm not gonna say it
  2. I think that's like three or four teams that have dumped two backups, in a couple of cases leaving nobody behind the starter.
  3. Are you right about this statement?
  4. Like you're doing trying to absolve Rhule? I get that you wanna be right about Fitterer but that's pretty tough to do without also defending Rhule, which like it or not is what you're effectively doing.
  5. If you can't get the video, here's Ellis Williams' summary from the Observer article linked on page one. “You ran into Baker Mayfield, the former Browns quarterback, recently,” Hanzus said. “I was hoping you could share an exchange that you had.” Frelund responded by sharing her on-field interaction with Mayfield after the preseason finale between the Panthers and Bills. “I was like, ‘Kick some butt.’ I didn’t say that word,” she said laughing, as she recounted her conversation with Mayfield. “... Go kick some butt, especially Week 1, I like cannot wait. And he uses some expletives. ... He’s like, ‘I’m gonna bleep them up.” Hanzus asked Frelund, “’I’m gonna f*** them up.’ Is that what his quote was?” Frelund said, “I don’t say curse words on air. I do not want to get in trouble.” Hanzus again asked Frelund, “But was that the quote?” She responded “yes.” The full article can be read here (no paywall)
  6. Damn. I like Zylstra. He was one of those guys who could come in and get a big catch right when you needed it. Hate to see him go. Hope he either sticks on the PS or finds work elsewhere.
  7. Didn't check it earlier, but Ellis Williams article actually links to the video of the Around the NFL podcast where Frelund originally reported it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ovx6s2KZnIw (FYI: the clip won't embed; you have to click the link to watch) The conversation in question starts a little after 36 minutes in. About 40 or so seconds into the discussion is where she states that he told her he was gonna "bleep them up". Dan Hanzus asks her to clarify if that was the exact quote. She hems and haws a little because she doesn't want to use foul language on the air, but does indeed confirm that yes, that's what he said. So there ya go...
  8. Not a cap guy, but as I understand it, bonuses that are spread out accelerate (i.e. they have to be paid all at once) when a player is traded. Sometimes teams agree to take on part of a cap hit either to move the player or acquire him.
  9. Not a cut, but some interesting info...
  10. Had the same reaction a while back when Zod took a post I made about Fitterer's hire and pulled it out for a thread
  11. We've read stories about guys like McDaniels, McVay, Reid and others making crazy on -the-fly adjustments in games that turned out to be brilliant. Be nice to have someone that could consistently do that sort of thing.
  12. To be clear, she says they're not being shopped. That does not mean the Panthers haven't taken calls.
  13. One of the most fun things about having him was watching when he'd spot something and go ape sh-t right before the play
  14. It'll have to be updated by a mod as well due to the the edit function time limit,
  15. Someone already has... And no, there's no denial in there.
  16. Could be, but I get the impression that while she didn't focus her statement on the Brown, he very well might have. Right now she seems to be trying to cover both her own ass and Baker's (especially after getting calls from both the Panthers and Browns) but for me it's a big "So what? Guys say stuff like that all the time."
  17. Yeah sorry, she's not saying that. I get that's what you want her to be saying, but it isn't. And she did tweet, specifically a statement with no denial of what he said, same as everything else she's spoken. If it weren't true, it'd be very easy to say so. She isn't.
  18. Rivera would agree with you And yeah, that play was great.
