  1. News from Cowboy Land... Basic Story: Jerry Jones was asked whether Jimmy Johnson would at some point be added to the Cowboys Ring of Honor. Jones replied that it depended on whether Johnson was "sniveling" for it or not. Johnson responded that he had to look up what "sniveling" meant but after checking decided that he had never "sniveled", and wasn't likely to do so now. I just texted that story to Lady Cowboy Fan, so if I wind up missing somebody make sure and tell the cops about this
  2. One quick question: Is there money riding on this or is it just for fun?
  3. Their fans probably found it less funny than we do I agree that when healthy, McCaffrey is a fantasy machine, arguably a number one pick in just about any league. It's just that "when healthy" qualifier...
  4. Some years back, I saw a Falcon fan asking who was better between an injured Michael Vick and a healthy Chris Chandler. They later said it was a trick question because there was no such thing as a healthy Chris Chandler
  5. Technically Watson had more than that. There were said to be two women who filed criminal complaints but didn't file lawsuits. There were also some potentially pending lawsuits as well as a couple of women who spoke to the press that also hadn't filed. And hell, with 66 therapists out there, it's possible there are some who had similar experiences but chose to keep silent. At this point, I'm not sure anybody knows exactly how many victims/accusers there really are.
  6. I don't do Fantasy Football, but I can't say I'd support that trade given...recent performance.
  7. So after repeatedly stating that he wouldn't settle with anybody, Watson ends up settling with pretty much everybody. This while also continuing to say that he "didn't do anything wrong", words which Jimmy and Dee Haslam apparently interpret as expressing remorse
  8. Yep. Said pretty much the same thing.
  9. If I had to wager on whether Matt Rhule was going to change the way other teams look at college coaches or he was going to confirm why you shouldn't hire them, I'm gonna bet on option two.
  10. I don't honestly remember seeing that but a quick google turned up this... Matt Corral explains his Wonderlic score
  11. Possible if an injunction is issued. Florio had some info here...
  12. Minor note... Probably not good news for Duke Dawson...
  13. Players liked Seifert too. Heck, teammates loved Delhomme and continued to support him even when it was obvious he was done. You really can't go by who players like, even when it comes to coaches. Those are as likely to be emotional decisions as logical ones. That's one of the reasons why I hate the idea of giving players (including franchise quarterbacks) a say in who the team hires or drafts.
  14. There is a remote possibility for that if he or the NFLPA were to secure an injunction that prevented the suspension from starting. That's highly unlikely though given that neither party had expressed a desire to appeal the original suspension, only a lengthened one.
  15. For someone who 'knows ball", the first step should have been to identify the best five linemen. Obviously, Ekwonu is one of those guys. It's also pretty clear they believe Christensen is another. So why in the hell would you ever want two of your acknowledged "top five" competing for one spot? That is easily one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.
  16. Went to the Hall of Fame game in 95 between the Panthers and Jaguars with three of my friends. We were the typical young male numbskulls who didn't plan anything, just hopped in a car and went. By the end of the day, we were all thirsty, starving and had severe sunburns
  17. For sure... I've bought probably a dozen books on football strategy and coaching over the years. Heck, Lady Cowboy Fan got me a couple of scouting books as gifts, one by Neal Stratton and the other by Steve Belichick. I probably need therapy
  18. Bottom line on this: I can't see a single scenario where Ickey isn't one of the best five linemen we have. That means you need to be getting him ready for a starting role. The best way to do that is not going to be putting him into some kind of goofy "competition" for his spot, with the consolation prize if he loses being that he has to start at a position he hasn't practiced as much for. You pick a damn spot and you give him the damn reps he needs to get ready there. You do the same thing with Christensen, Bozeman and everybody else so they can get their chemistry built. This "earn your spot" thing is really frigging stupid.
  19. Agreed, though I suspect there aren't many casual Twitter users willing to dig through a dozen pages of run concepts
  20. This brings up a point... My opinion of these two guys wasn't formed overnight. It's not going to be changed overnight either. I know a lot of folks have said "winning" and some have clarified "consistent winning". That's key. It has to be more than just this season. If a consistent winner isn't built, nothing changes.
