  1. Part of the reason people want to trade for Samuel is the way the 49ers have been using him. Part of the reason he wants to be traded is that he doesn't want to be used like that anymore. Samuel reportedly doesn't want to play the "Swiss Army Knife" role. He wants to be used strictly as a receiver.
  2. I remember Gantt saying that when he interviewed Sunseri, there were often things he had to look up to be sure they were printable
  3. Lots of OL coaches are known for being... colorful. I vaguely recall hearing someone say Dante Scarnecchia could cuss the paint off a wall
  4. I like Steve Wilks. I'm iffy on Phil Snow.
  5. Just saw this... You know the kind of people who concentrate on minor stuff while the major stuff doesn't get taken care of? That profile seems to fit Tepper.
  6. So he'll be fine as long as our coaching staff makes smart decisions? Oy
  7. Have mentioned it before, but after Tepper got here some folks built up this mythology around him as if he were some super competent leader that would never accept anything less than the best. Basically Captain Kirk in an open shirt... Reality unfortunately has been... disappointing. The real life David Tepper is closer to Michael Scott than James Kirk. He may have been a great hedge fund manager but as a football owner, he's terrible.
  8. ...says Phil Snow, on the advice of Steve Wilks Let me say for the record that I respect the hell out of Steve Wilks. And with that said, I disagree with this decision.
  9. I'll never understand why people refer to "wanting to win" as if it were some kind of virtue. Hell, the Jaguars want to win. They just don't have the first clue how to do it. That was Jerry Richardson too. And yes, now it's David Tepper.
  10. Football wise? Not a whole hell of a lot. Maybe Fitterer turns out to be legit once he and Morgan are no longer saddled with Matt Rhule.
  11. Erickson wasn't bad. Switzer's been around for a while, hasn't he?
  12. Sure you do. In-between having lunch once a week with David Tepper, right? (and dating Morgan Fairchild)
  13. I think that's what a lot of people see coming. Well, he's been doing that to us pretty much since he bought the team, so it's pretty clear he's capable
  14. I don't think that happens this year, though. Probably gonna have to fire Rhule just to start getting us pointed in the right direction.
  15. I think it was his ego that hired Rhule in the first place. He had to make a big splashy move and do something different than everyone else was doing just to draw attention to himself. That way when he succeeded where others had failed, he could thump his chest and point to how great he was. Except he didn't...because he isn't. He may, in fact, be one of the dumbest owners in the league. I've said before that Tepper is used to just being able to "big ball" his way through everything. He probably thought he could do that in the NFL too. Not going that well so far...
  16. I remember him telling us that what he cared about most was winning. Practice has told us that what he cares about most is his ego.
  17. Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but we do have a coach on staff who has direct experience with Mayfield. James Campen was on the Browns staff a few years back as OL coach and assistant head coach.
