Valid point.

Yeah...None of that makes any sense. You basically just chose to ignore what didn't fit your narrative. Get back to me when AT&T and T-Mobile are competing over 20 weeks in televised weekly contests that are watched by millions and have definitive results.
-
That's pretty funny

Think sports entertainment, like Vince McMahon or Mark Cuban.
-
How many of those guys are in the entertainment business? How many have an organization as small as an NFL team? How many are very visible in good times but disappear when things get bad? The NFL is nothing like a computer company.

Person asks about GM / Head Coach "alignment"

It's actually posted in one of the other threads. (I don't remember which one) -
Matt Rhule dresses like a goddamn slob

Apparently he can dance, though... Mind you, I've no desire to see this -
I'm not a fan of Matt Rhule, so I don't really care whether he succeeds or not. I am a fan of the Panthers, so I do care whether or not they succeed. Sometimes team success means parting ways with those who are underperforming. And that doesn't just mean players.
-
John puts it well... David Tepper has accomplished nothing deserving of respect or the benefit of a doubt. Just the opposite, honestly. He's actually made the team worse.
-
Outside of firing Rhule, I don't necessarily have anything specific I want him to say. But with that said, even saying something worthless is better than giving the impression that either A) you think you're above talking to your customers or B) you're an abject coward.
-
See above. If you're hoping to get somebody to buy something from you, treating them like peons isn't good business.
-
There's also this... When you have something to sell that you want people to buy, hiding from people who have questions about it isn't a good practice. Bear in mind that he's going to be trying to sell public funding for a new stadium in a few years as well. Keeping mistrust and resentment at a minimum between now and then would probably be a good idea.
-
That's actually true. He's been known to say dumb things on more than one occasion.
-
He did a lot to actually make the situation worse when he was talking about Teddy Bridgewater, but that didn't shut him up then.

Why the hell would this go in The Tinderbox? -
That's the thing. Being all out in public when we're winning but acting like Greta Garbo when we're losing makes him look like a coward. This really shouldn't be a difficult thing to understand.
-
I have no rooting interest involved for any QB this year. I don't have a while lot of general interest either, but ya know...
-
Don't think I buy that. But I liked Howell a lot last year, and I agree that perhaps he didn't necessarily get significantly worse so much as maybe he was on a worse team. So if, for example, we traded down and wound up with Trevor Penning and Sam Howell, I'd be willing to at least give that the benefit of a doubt. Not my ideal scenario, but hey...

Wait...Somebody didn't have dinner with Mike Tomlin?
-
Well, I'd say a guy who's know to stick others with lunch and dinner checks might not be up to paying for a stadium himself anyway

Andy Reid looks and dresses like the dad teenagers don't want to be seen with while vacationing in Hawaii. Nobody gives a damn because he's very good at his job. That's ultimately what it comes down to. -
