  1. People are looking at this the wrong way. When the team had Newton, they had two choices. They could teach him the pro game or just build an offense around what he already knew. Under Shula, they built the offense around his college concepts. When they scrapped Shula and hired Turner, they did what they should have done from the beginning and coached him up to the pro game. The last thing I want to see them do is make the same mistake with Matt Corral.
  2. If he didn't have confidence in Corral, he'd have drafted someone else. There were other options, Sam Howell for one. This theory is stupid.
  3. Was going to say something similar... It was reported that there was an internal dispute going on over Mayfield. My theory was (and still is) that Rhule wanted Mayfield. Fitterer has expressed (repeatedly) that he views drafting and building around a quarterback as "the right way to do it". I'd say Fitterer won the argument.
  4. The talk has been that there's a disagreement within the Panthers front office. I have to wonder if that disagreement might not be between Rhule and Fitterer.
  5. I have no hate for any of these guys. I just know some of them aren't very good.
  6. That strategy doesn't really work for Matt Rhule though...
  7. It's possible, but that's an opinion. It's also possible he might not amount to much. Heaven knows we've all seen guys we thought we're going to be great go to the NFL and disappear. It happens.
  8. It's not the fanbase that's dropping him in the draft.
