When did they ever?
-
We know from multiple sources that Marty's emphasis was to win now. He wasn't interested in long-term results. He needed to save his own ass.
-
Same.

Can't have a rebuild when one of the people in charge isn't on board with it. This is year two for Rhule, but last year was Rhule/Hurney. This is year one of Rhule/Fitterer. And as such, the first year when everyone is on the same page.
-
Part of the problem is fan expectations are rarely realistic. I've said before that this is year one of the rebuild for me. Thus, I've set my expectations accordingly. If you want this team to be built for long-term success rather than just a flash in the pan, you need to do it right.

Panthers add to coaching staff (exclusive)
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
There are other changes from last season too. Frisman Jackson now has the "passing game coordinator" title. They probably wanted to promote him after he got interviewed for the Falcons OC job. Looks like they also added a "senior defensive assistant" title to LB Coach Mike Siravo. Kinda surprised Evan Cooper doesn't have a title like that since it's been said many times he's like Rhule's right hand man. Back in February, the Panthers hired longtime pass rush specialist Don Johnson and veteran DL guy Terrance Knighton (Coach Pot Roast) right about the same time they promoted Frank Okam to fill the DL coach position that Mike Phair was let go from. And of course, the team hired Sean Ryan and Tony Sparano Jr back in January. Looks like assistant strength and conditioning coach Gus Felder is no longer with the team. Hadn't seen anything on why. Some other assistant shuffling: Former Temple guy EJ Barthel is gone. Former Temple linebacker and Baylor assistant Rob Dvoracek has been added along with former Baylor QB Garret McGuire and "executive assistant" Morgan Fleming. We already had a big coaching staff. Didn't count it up but I think it's gotten even bigger. -

Gilbride was expected to join our staff as the right ends coach last year according to Alex Marvez. Don't remember if we interviewed him or not but the job ended up going Brian Angelichio instead. As a defensive analyst though? He's never coached on the defensive side at any point in his career. He's always been an offensive coach like his dad, strictly tight ends and wide receivers. His dad was the OC for the Giants when Rhule was there if I remember correctly. He's also the guy that Buddy Ryan famously punched on the sidelines. -
Rappaport critical on Sam Darnold during McAfee Show
Mr. Scot replied to TheCasillas's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. That didn't come off as anything close to "critical".- 22 replies

Panthers interested in bringing back Tre Boston?
Mr. Scot replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's not that. It's baseless speculation from a bullsh-t Twitter account. NFL Rumors is clickbait garbage. -
It's not that hard to understand the difference between "Darnold is a rookie" and "the team is treating Darnold like a rookie". (at least it shouldn't be) And the notion that these two stances are comparable is goofy.

Do we not already know that NFL Rumors is a bullsh-t Twitter account? Nothing they post is to be taken seriously. -
Point Blank: I don't really give a sh-t. Who the team is historically has no bearing on an organization that has new ownership, a new GM and a new head coach.

Rhule see’s Brady Christensen more of a RT or OG than a LT

The team doesn't wanna go week to week wondering whether they have a left tackle or not again this season. -
He might, but I wouldn't expect Reid to say something like that.
-
Anybody been following this story? If you have, do you have an opinion on it? What do you suppose Reid might have said that set Bell off so much?
-
Speaking of...
-
Nah, it couldn't be that
-
If that lasts more than four hours, you might have a problem. (or you might be 13)

Anderson was terrible. If I remember correctly, we ended up with him because he impressed Siefert at the Senior Bowl. Man, what a total whiff. I remember one ex Panthers employee describing Deon Grant as being the absolute dumbest player he ever met. He could play, but off the field he was apparently dumb as a brick. Jeno James at least had a decent season or two with us. I believe he was a member of the starting line for the Super Bowl season. And I'd add that for as bad as that draft class was, Seifert did a hell of a lot better the following year.
-
Little shouldn't even have been drafted in the second. And no, he doesn't have a chance to beat Cam Erving. Hell, I wouldn't even bet on him beating out Dennis Daley. He was benched last year in favor of Trent Scott. He's not good.

Like who? Pretty much anybody who's healthy and worth anything is already employed somewhere. -
I think Little has already proven he's not capable of a starter role. Hell, I couldn't even guarantee he's depth at this point. Wouldn't bet much on him making the team.
-
I wouldn't put any money on him making the roster at either spot.
