  1. Marty had a vested interest in the team winning sooner rather than later, and he believed Bridgewater was someone who could help them do that. Wrong on all sides...
  2. Roaring Riot confirmed that Marty was the one who pushed the hardest for us to sign him. And of course, Marty set his contract terms.
  3. By the way @ellis, I know this isn't Twitter but in your random Panther discussion, has anybody mentioned Mitch Marrow yet?
  4. I'm pretty sure there were more positive opinions of Herbert on here last year than negative ones. The most prominent negative opinion was probably LG, and he's gotten a fair amount of flack for that.
  5. They've got some good pieces in their secondary. Combined with a good coach like Richard? Yeah...
  6. I get that people don't like the idea but seriously, this wouldn't even be the worst draft pick in Panthers history.
  7. Hate to say it but that's a damn good hire.
  8. It's pick number eight. Look up at the top of the image.
  9. The thing about getting a guy like Carr is that ideally it allows you to spend a couple of years looking for your future franchise quarterback. Maybe a year or two down the road, you have more holes in the roster filled and you're in a better position to use draft capital to trade up for that guy you want. If you don't like the choices in this year's draft or you don't think the choices you like are within reach, it's a reasonable idea.
  10. You guys have so little faith Oh hey, remember this?
  11. Now you can simulate games with those quarterbacks you hope the Panthers draft, or your favorites from the past. New guy likes it. So does our buddy Ellis...
  12. What Deacon Jones used to do to guys would be a personal foul now.
  13. Most of the guys who last into their 30s are pocket passers like Stafford is. Said it elsewhere: Stafford would have been an ideal fit for the kind of offense Joe Brady runs.
  14. I think of McCaffrey more as our version of LaDainian Tomlinson. Tomlinson had Antonio Gates. We don't even have a true starter.
  15. He might have been. Nobody's said for certain but Person believes he was, and it's reasonable to think so. The Lions were looking to get a quarterback in return.
  16. I don't know that I'd have put Delhomme in a West Coast system, not even prime Delhomme. He fit into a Coryell type offense much better. Carr though? Yeah. His experience working under Gruden serves him well there.
  17. It tells me that winning is now more important than feelings. I'm not really confident that was true here in the past.
  18. Probably the second best offer they got, and good enough that they were ready to take it.
  19. The one who's generally considered the best of the lot didn't play. I would add I actually think Sam Ehlinger looked decent.
  20. I'm not a big Stafford fan, but even I can acknowledge that the back end of his career looks better than some guys' entire resumés.
  21. Yeah, the Stafford deal definitely wasn't "the farm". It didn't even include the kitchen sink.
